American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN CVOR for a travel nursing job in Montgomery, Alabama. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: CVOR, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 04/27/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 40 hours per week, • Shift: 8 hours, days, • Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview • Shift: Days, 5x8hrs, • Hours: 40 hrs/wk, • Start Date: Apr 27, 2026, • Length: 13 weeks, • Work in a 15-bed surgical unit with 2 dedicated CVOR rooms at a 492-bed Level II Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center, • Patient population includes open heart procedures such as CABG, TAVR, AVR, MVR, sternotomy, thoracotomy/thoracoscopy, VATS, and ECMO, as well as minimal pediatric cases (typically orthopedic), • Additional case types include trauma (no burns), neuro, general, vascular (including endovascular), ENT, ortho/spine, total joints, GYN, urology, robotics, plastics, breast, and eye procedures, • 1:1 patient ratio, • Circulator role only, • 8-hour day shifts starting at 6:00 AM, 40 hours per week, • On-call schedule includes approximately 1 weekday and 1 weekend per month (Friday 3PM–7AM, Saturday 24 hours, Sunday 24 hours), totaling approximately 10 call days per month, • Weekend rotation includes on-call responsibility, • 30-minute response time required for on-call, • No floating required, • EMR: Cerner (experience with this system relevant), • Equipment includes Plum 360 IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Spacelabs monitorsRequirements, • Active AL RN license or compact RN license required, • Current certifications: BLS and ACLS, • Minimum of 2 years of OR/CVOR experience required; candidates with only 1 year of experience will not be considered, • Hands-on CVOR experience required, including open heart, CABG, TAVR, AVR, MVR, sternotomy, thoracotomy/thoracoscopy, VATS, and ECMO, • Strong experience across multiple surgical service lines including trauma (no burns), neuro, general, vascular, ENT, ortho/spine, total joints, GYN, urology, plastics, breast, and eye, • Total joint orthopedic experience required, • Robotics experience preferred (Robotic Mazor and/or DaVinci XI), • Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible, • One professional reference from a charge nurse or above, from within the past 12 months, required for consideration, • DOB (day and month) and full SSN required for consideration, • Copies of current certifications required for considerationAdditional Information, • Orientation is 2 weeks on day shift; buddy call is expected during the orientation period, • Unit support includes an ORA, desk assistant, charge nurse, and team leaders for each service line, • Holiday coverage is expected for at least one holiday during the contract, • An interview is required; candidates should be prepared for a SimpliFi interview and manager approval process, • First-time travelers are welcome to apply with at least 2 years of experience With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
