Job Description Job Title: Box Truck Driver / Furniture Installer Job Description This role combines professional box truck driving with hands-on furniture installation for residential, commercial, event, and trade show clients. You will safely operate a 26 ft. box truck, deliver and install a wide variety of furniture according to detailed floorplans, and provide courteous, high-quality service that ensures each space is fully and accurately set up. Responsibilities • Safely operate a 26 ft. box truck in full compliance with DOT regulations., • Deliver, install, and pick up furniture for residential, commercial, event, and trade show locations., • Follow floorplans and setup instructions to place and assemble furniture accurately., • Protect products during transport by properly securing loads and maintaining an organized truck., • Complete all required paperwork, including delivery documents and pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections., • Assist with warehouse activities, including loading, unloading, shipping, and receiving as needed., • Lead and direct helpers during deliveries to ensure efficient work and excellent customer service., • Use basic tools such as cordless drills and screwdrivers to assemble furniture and related items., • Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 75 lbs., climbing stairs, bending, and staying active throughout the day., • Set up apartments from start to finish, including assembling beds and placing household items such as kitchenware according to company standards., • Maintain a professional, courteous attitude with clients and represent the company positively at all times., • Support warehouse operations during slower delivery periods by helping with general labor tasks., • Keep vehicles clean, organized, and in good working condition, promptly reporting any issues. Essential Skills • Proven driving experience with a 26 ft. box truck., • Valid drivers license and clean driving record., • Ability to pass a DOT physical and pre-employment drug test., • Strong customer service skills with a professional and courteous demeanor., • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs., climb stairs, bend, and remain physically active for extended periods., • Comfort with physical work, including carrying furniture up and down steps and assembling basic furniture pieces., • Basic tool knowledge, including use of cordless drills, screwdrivers, and similar hand tools., • Attention to detail when following floorplans and setting up apartments completely, from furniture to household items., • Reliability in following schedules and procedures for deliveries, installations, and inspections. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience as a box truck driver, delivery driver, mover, or furniture installer., • in general labor, loading, and unloading in a warehouse or delivery environment., • Ability to lead and coordinate the work of a helper during deliveries., • Comfort working in both on-site delivery settings and warehouse operations as needed., • Strong organizational skills to keep vehicles and equipment orderly., • Willingness to work flexible schedules based on delivery volume and client needs. Work Environment You report daily to a warehouse facility in Secaucus, NJ and are paid from the time you arrive at the warehouse until you return at the end of your shift. The role requires flexibility in scheduling, with hours that may vary based on delivery needs. Drivers work with a dedicated helper on each route and use hand trucks, carts, and dollies to assist with loading, unloading, and deliveries. You actively participate in loading and unloading your truck at the warehouse and, during weeks with fewer deliveries, you support warehouse operations through general labor tasks. The environment is physically demanding and hands-on, involving regular lifting, carrying, climbing stairs, and furniture assembly, all supported by appropriate tools and equipment. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Jersey City, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $52000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
