Job Description Job Title: Production Helper Job Description The Production Helper supports daily manufacturing operations by handling materials, operating and assisting with automated machinery, and preparing finished products for shipment. This role involves packaging and labeling products, moving materials with a forklift, and maintaining a clean and safe work area in an industrial manufacturing environment with rotating shifts. Responsibilities • Handle raw materials and finished goods throughout the production process., • Assist with the setup and operation of automated production machinery that applies weatherizing solutions to large paper rolls used to wrap concrete forms in the construction industry., • Operate production equipment safely and efficiently under supervision and according to established procedures., • Package and label finished products accurately to meet quality and customer requirements., • Prepare finished products for shipping, including staging, wrapping, and organizing items for transport., • Operate a forklift to move materials, products, and supplies within the facility., • Follow all safety protocols and use required personal protective equipment at all times., • Perform general shop cleanup, including sweeping, organizing materials, and removing debris to maintain a clean and orderly work area., • Assist with general shop tasks and provide support to production team members as needed., • Experience working in a manufacturing or warehouse environment, or a strong interest in learning industrial work processes., • Previous forklift operating experience, highly preferred., • Ability to operate or learn to operate industrial and automated production machinery safely., • Comfort working in an industrial manufacturing environment around heavy machinery., • Capability to perform general labor tasks, including material handling, lifting, and moving products throughout the shift., • Basic proficiency using hand tools and power tools in a safe and controlled manner., • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to safety and quality procedures., • Willingness and availability to work any shift on a rotating schedule., • Experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial operations is preferred., • Experience in a warehouse distribution setting is beneficial., • Familiarity with machine operation and industrial machinery is an advantage., • Comfort using hand tools, power tools, and other basic shop equipment., • Demonstrated drive, willingness to learn, and ability to adapt to changing tasks and priorities. Work Environment This role is based in an industrial manufacturing facility that operates heavy machinery and automated production equipment. The work involves standing, moving materials, and working around industrial machinery throughout the shift. Personal protective equipment is required, including safety shoes, hard hats, earplugs, and safety glasses. The schedule follows a rotating shift pattern, cycling every 8 weeks through day, swing, and night shifts: Day shift runs from 6:45 AM to 3:00 PM, Swing shift from 2:45 PM to 11:00 PM, and Night shift from 10:45 PM to 7:00 AM, rotating backward from night to swing to days. The environment is active and production-focused, with an emphasis on safety, teamwork, and adherence to established procedures. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of PORTLAND, OR. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.80 - $24.80/hr.
