Job Description Construction Helper / General Labor Location: Portland, OR Pay: $20–$23/hour Overview We are seeking a dependable, hands-on Construction Helper to join our team in a shop-based environment. This position focuses on refurbishing and preparing construction trailers for use in the field. It’s a great opportunity for someone who is mechanically inclined, enjoys working with their hands, and takes pride in delivering quality work. What You’ll Be Doing In this role, you’ll work alongside a team of technicians to repair, rebuild, and maintain construction trailers. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include: • Removing and installing drywall, flooring, and other interior components, • Painting trailer interiors and exteriors using spray equipment, • Performing basic repairs across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and framing systems, • Using hand and power tools to complete a variety of construction tasks, • Cleaning and detailing trailers to ensure they are job-site ready, • Assisting with general shop operations, including organizing materials and maintaining a clean workspace, • Documenting completed work and following all safety procedures, • Operating a forklift (or being trained to do so) to move materials as needed What We’re Looking For We’re looking for someone who is reliable, coachable, and ready to contribute to a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Ideal candidates will have: • Experience using hand and power tools, • Basic knowledge of construction trades (drywall, flooring, painting, etc.), • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills, • Ability to perform physical, labor-intensive work in a shop setting, • A team-first attitude with a willingness to learn and grow Nice to Have (Not Required) • Experience with HVAC, plumbing, or electrical work, • Forklift experience or willingness to be trained, • EPA Universal certification, • Previous experience in a shop, manufacturing, or repair environment Why Join This Team? The work can be physical and occasionally dirty, so comfort working around tools, materials, and equipment is important. • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, • Overtime available during peak seasonsJob Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, OR.
