The VP of IT at Pacific Seafood is a member of the PSG Executive Leadership team, leading efforts to create business strategies and implement automated business solutions that drive strategic innovation, enable continual financial growth, and optimize the company’s sales experience, with continuous improvement and efficiency. This position involves being fiscally responsible, business-oriented, strategic, and technical and is ideal for someone who is a curious learner and adept at building positive relationships across multiple departments, working collaboratively on cross-functional activities, using technology to improve business processes, measuring and working with operations leaders to continuously improve their business performance, and resolving issues that impact results. Being responsible for successful implementation of modern enterprise solutions, improving data analytics and the use of AI are standout subject areas. Ultimately the VP of IT is responsible for building and maintaining a modern, sustainable business technology environment which delivers the required performance and information across the entire enterprise. The VP of IT is responsible for setting and implementing the strategic IT direction and effective implementation of flexible, scalable, and adaptable systems. This role is also responsible for all aspects of the IT operating model, including cybersecurity and IT support. Pacific Seafood’s culture is entrepreneurial and very fast paced. The successful candidate will be driven, innovative and fully engaged, enjoying working on numerous projects while attending to core business. Plans will change during project execution while strategic priorities remain in place. Currently the following roles report to the VP of IT: • Manager of Network Infrastructure, • DevOps and BI Manager, • PMO Manager, • Provide strong leadership and vision to the IT team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence in execution., • Identify gaps in the IT team, direct and oversee the recruitment, training, and development of IT staff, ensuring the team has the skills and resources needed to succeed/win., • Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive verbal and written feedback, and support their professional growth and career development within the team., • Implement succession planning and talent management strategies to ensure the continuity and growth of the IT department., • Challenge IT team members to frequently work collaboratively with technology consumers in all OpCos., • Instill and grow the PSG Diamond Philosophy within the IT team. Ensure the IT team sets a good example and helps develop strong leaders within the department and throughout the enterprise., • Identify and develop leaders for adoption of technology within the OpCos.2. Business Administration:, • Oversee the daily operations of the IT department, including network management, development and/or systems administration of enterprise applications, cybersecurity, AI tools and support, and helpdesk support., • Ensure the availability, reliability, backup/recovery and security of IT systems and infrastructure, working closely with business leaders to ensure continuity plans are robust and regularly tested., • Develop and enforce IT policies, procedures, and standards to maintain data integrity, security, and compliance with regulations., • Continually reach out to the enterprise through customer satisfaction surveys and other means to verify that the department has a good understanding of areas where they can improve and how other employees view the service level of the IT team., • Ensure that the IT team is effectively communicating with the rest of the enterprise., • Set the Business Strategy considering the adoption of technology across the enterprise, • Be an integrated partner with OpCos - If you are not making money or saving money, make it easier for those who do.3. IT Specific Strategic Growth:, • Become an expert in understanding the Pacific Seafood strategic plan, business model and the multiple vertically integrated business units., • Develop and maintain a cost-effective multi-year IT strategy/roadmap identifying key initiatives to optimize and drive efficiencies in the current business environment while allowing for substantial growth, change and innovation in the future., • Oversee and effectively manage the global Pacific Seafood Information Technology portfolio and ensure changes to the portfolio are aligned with the company’s business strategy., • Successfully deliver all projects on time and on or below budget, ensuring that they meet or exceed the needs of the business., • Oversee the management of IT risks, including but not limited to business continuity planning, security, infrastructure, and crisis management., • Develop and maintain strategic and tactically relevant partnerships with vendors that may help offer solutions based on specific company needs., • Consistently update the executive leadership team on the changes in industry trends. This includes planning, budgeting, purchasing and accounting solutions that will help further the strategic goals of Pacific Seafood Group., • Research, propose and implement appropriate AI tools and methods of benefit to the company, with a particular emphasis on productivity enhancements., • Continuously seek ways to add value, provide security, and anticipate business/market changes by providing timely solutions for the company. 4. Financial Management:, • Provide and optimize the technology support to the financial management of the enterprise, including financial planning, budgeting, FP&A and BI/Reporting., • Own, manage, and monitor the IT department’s budget, ensuring that financial resources are used efficiently and effectively., • Own/Analyze and report on IT expenditures, identifying opportunities for cost savings and optimizing resource allocation., • Own/Manage contracts with vendors and service providers to secure cost-effective services without compromising quality., • Lead financial negotiations for IT-related purchases, contracts, and service agreements.5. Technical:, • Ensure the IT function exceeds industry standards in all areas. Seek outside expertise as necessary to identify gaps and consider recommendations., • Identify, report and mitigate IT risks to the organization, including physical and cyber security, systems performance and availability, single points of failure, backup and recovery., • Develop, implement and sustain a safe and effective AI strategy., • Keep all IT functions up to date and innovate to advance the company’s mission in a financially sustainable way., • Work with functions being supported to ensure IT solutions meet/exceed functional requirements and fit the function’s culture and necessary methods of operation., • Maintain IT systems, whether on-premises or hosted/cloud, with standardized solutions for hardware, servers and networks, and manage repair, upgrades and replacements on regular cycles., • Identify and manage software update processes using internal and external resources. Collaborate with all 4 OpCo leaders to minimize operating impact and business risk., • You and your team own the plans underlying the IT roadmap which defines the scope, resources, timeline and budget for IT projects. Address MES/Automation needs and scope for R&D vs. IT., • Select, measure against outcomes, and manage contractors and vendors providing products and services to the IT mission., • Develop the PMO to ensure all projects involving IT are governed using standardized, enterprise grade project management methods and tools.6. Leadership Team:, • Actively participate as a business team/operational leader in Executive Leadership sessions including supporting overall business strategies, communicating and confirming IT strategy and supporting peer executives in their missions., • Work collaboratively with the leadership team in all matters to act as a real change agent across all functions., • Stay continuously up to date on the current tactical needs of each function being supported and evolve the IT operating model to ensure an effective distribution of centralized and decentralized technology resources., • Set IT strategy, communicate and ensure the leadership team understands the IT business team/operational strategy, roadmap, and mission as it may evolve., • Work with leadership to measure and report on the health and status of the IT function and to make tactical decisions affecting other functions.Additional responsibilities may be assigned as deemed necessary to support the overall goals and objectives of the position. What you bring to Pacific SeafoodRequired: • BA/BS degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Management, Engineering, or related field., • 10+ years of progressive Information Technology management/leadership experience., • 3+ years of experience in a similar role within a similar sized company with distributed locations and systems complexity, • Highly organized, • Strong technical project management and organizational change management skills., • Experience in systems analysis; people development; preference to work on-site, • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time or more, as required.Preferred:, • Food processing experience, • Prior experience in e-commerce, logistics, distribution and manufacturing technology solutions., • Prior LEAN management and constant process improvement experience., • Familiarity with product management and organizational change management.
