Job DescriptionJob Title: Electromechanical Technician Job Description This role focuses on mechanical assembly, point-to-point electrical wiring, soldering, and wire harness assembly in a prototype and low-volume manufacturing environment. You work directly from schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and detailed work instructions to build new products, assemble control panels, and perform final testing. The position combines hands-on electrical and mechanical tasks within an electrical assembly department that supports new product development and engineering projects. Responsibilities • Assemble mechanical and electrical components, including enclosures, subassemblies, and control panels, according to schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical prints., • Perform point-to-point electrical wiring and harness assembly, ensuring proper routing, termination, and labeling of wires., • Carry out soldering tasks on connectors, terminals, and electronic components in accordance with quality and safety standards., • Build and assemble wiring harnesses, including cutting, crimping, bundling, and securing wires to meet design specifications., • Complete box assembly and button-up activities, including installing panels, covers, and hardware, and preparing assemblies for final inspection., • Conduct final testing of assemblies and products within the electrical assembly department, following test procedures and documenting results., • Inspect assemblies visually and functionally to verify workmanship quality and adherence to drawings and instructions., • Use hand and power tools, such as power screwdrivers, drills, and other shop tools, to perform assembly and fabrication tasks., • Interpret and follow blueprints, schematics, and detailed work instructions to build prototype and production units accurately., • Support prototype builds and new product introductions by working closely with engineering in a lab and production environment., • Assist with troubleshooting and basic diagnostics of electrical and electromechanical issues under guidance, when needed., • Apply basic computer and typing skills to access work instructions, enter test data, and complete documentation related to builds., • Use basic math skills to measure, verify dimensions, and ensure correct material usage during assembly., • Follow established safety practices, quality procedures, and housekeeping standards in the lab and production areas.Essential Skills, • Experience with mechanical assembly in a manufacturing environment., • Hands-on experience with point-to-point electrical wiring and wire harness assembly., • Ability to perform soldering on electrical and electronic components., • Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, mechanical prints, or detailed work instructions., • Experience using hand tools and power tools, including familiarity with power screwdrivers., • Basic computer and typing skills for accessing documentation and recording information., • Basic math skills for measurements, counts, and simple calculations., • Prior assembly experience within a manufacturing or production environment., • Attention to detail and strong focus on quality, inspection, and testing of assembled products., • Capability to follow written and verbal instructions in a fast-paced production setting.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience with control panel assembly and industrial control wiring., • Prior experience with inspection, testing, and quality assurance processes., • Exposure to troubleshooting electronics or electromechanical systems., • Experience using shop tools such as mills, lathes, and drill presses., • Prior testing and troubleshooting experience in an electrical or electronic environment., • Experience in prototype builds, research and development labs, or low-volume manufacturing settings., • Any fabrication experience involving basic machining or fabrication equipment., • Comfort working extensively with harnesses and soldering in an electrical assembly department.Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Camas, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
