Job Description Job Title: Warehouse Worker Job Description The Warehouse Worker plays a key role in a high-volume cold storage distribution environment, focusing on loading and unloading palletized freight, handling inventory, and operating material-handling equipment. This role centers on the safe and efficient movement of goods in a fulfillment warehouse using electric pallet jacks and related equipment, while maintaining accurate documentation and supporting overall inventory control. Shift Sunday 4pm Start, Monday-Thursday 6pm to 2am + OT Responsibilities • Operate electric pallet jacks (EPJ), including single and double pallet configurations, to move freight safely and efficiently within a fulfillment warehouse., • Perform loader and unloader duties by strictly loading palletized freight staged by the selection team onto outbound trailers throughout the shift., • Receive and unload inbound freight, verify and inspect products for accuracy and condition, and forward necessary information to the receiving clerk., • Break down pallets, restack and restock products, palletize freight, stage loads, and ensure outbound trailers are loaded correctly and securely., • Assist with inventory management activities, including cycle counts and date coding, to support accurate stock levels and product traceability., • Use RF scanners and related devices to read labels, pick lists, and signage, and to accurately record product movement and shipping information., • Complete required shipping papers, reports, and records accurately and in a timely manner to support warehouse and distribution operations., • Operate various configurations of warehouse equipment, including forklifts and handheld scanners, following training and safety guidelines., • Handle customers’ products safely and efficiently, maintaining product integrity and minimizing damage during loading, unloading, and storage., • Communicate clearly and tactfully with coworkers and others in the facility to coordinate tasks, resolve issues, and maintain smooth operations., • Work effectively in a cold storage environment, consistently wearing appropriate clothing and adapting to very cold temperatures throughout the shift., • Meet physical requirements of the role, including standing, sitting, and walking for extended periods; repeatedly twisting at the torso while lifting, pushing, and pulling inventory; and regularly lifting items ranging from 20 to 100 pounds., • Follow all safety procedures when operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment to ensure a safe and lawful work environment., • Support general warehouse cleanliness and organization by keeping work areas orderly and ensuring pallets and freight are properly staged. Essential Skills • Ability to read, write, communicate, and comprehend the English language sufficiently to perform job tasks, including reading labels, pick lists, scanner prompts, and signage, and understanding oral and written instructions., • Capability to accurately complete shipping papers, reports, and records required for warehouse and distribution operations., • Proficiency in operating electric pallet jacks (EPJ), including riding pallet jacks for single and double pallet configurations., • Ability to use RF scanners and handheld devices to pick orders, track inventory, and record product movement., • Sound judgment to operate forklifts and other equipment in a safe and lawful manner and to handle products safely and efficiently., • Ability to work reliably in a cold storage environment and withstand very cold temperatures over the course of a shift., • Physical ability to stand, sit, and walk throughout the day; repeatedly twist at the torso while lifting, pushing, and pulling inventory; and regularly lift 20 to 100 pounds., • Consistent attendance and reliability, showing up for scheduled shifts and performing assigned duties as trained. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience as a receiver, loader, or order picker in a warehouse environment., • Experience using pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks, and sit-down forklifts., • Reach truck and sit-down forklift experience is beneficial but not required, as training can be provided., • Ability to operate various types and configurations of warehouse equipment following training, including different forklift types and handheld scanners., • Strong attention to detail when verifying freight, inspecting products, and performing cycle counts and date coding., • Ability to communicate tactfully and professionally with coworkers and others in the facility. Work Environment This role is based in a cold storage distribution facility that maintains very low temperatures to preserve products, requiring comfort working in a consistently cold environment. Team members wear full clothing bibs and other appropriate cold-weather attire to stay warm and safe during their shifts. Work is performed in a busy fulfillment warehouse setting with frequent use of electric pallet jacks, forklifts, RF scanners, and other material-handling equipment. The environment involves regular physical activity, including standing, walking, lifting, and moving palletized freight, with a strong emphasis on safety, organization, and efficient trailer loading and unloading. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Clackamas, OR. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
