American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in St. Louis, Missouri. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 05/11/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview • Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs, • Hours: 36 hrs/wk, • Start Date: May 11, 2026, • Length: 13 weeks, • Medical ICU (MICU) in a large, short-term acute care hospital with 1,266 staffed beds, • Level I Trauma Center, Magnet-designated, academic teaching hospital, • Patient ratio of 1:2, • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30), • Every other weekend required, • Floating required within the ICU service line, including to med/surg areas within the ICU service line, • No on-call requirements, • Block scheduling is not available, • Charting is performed using Epic; Epic experience is required, • Scrubs must be navy blueRequirements, • Active MO state RN license or compact RN license valid in Missouri required at time of consideration; pending IL license is accepted for IL-based candidates, • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required, • Minimum 1.5 years of ICU experience required; MICU experience preferred, • Candidates with fewer than 2 years of experience must have Level I Trauma Center experience, • Experience in a 20+ bed ICU is required, • Must pass a Relias EKG exam; EKG interpretation and dysrhythmia management skills required, • Proficiency with pressor support, ETT, tracheostomies, feeding tubes, chest tubes, and wound care required, • Sterile technique experience required for line insertion, paracentesis, bedside trach placement, chest tube management, bronchoscopy, and phlebotomyAdditional Information, • First-time travelers are welcome to apply, • Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted, • RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation, • Travelers may work at this health system for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required, • Former permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to any facility within this health system as a traveler, • Preferred experience includes CRRT, Swan-Ganz catheter, inhaled and IV Flolan, CVVHD, proning, and MTP/Level 1 Rapid Transfuser With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
