This critical role involves providing high-quality care in a fast-paced environment, managing a diverse patient population with complex medical needs. The ideal candidate will thrive on teamwork, exhibit strong clinical skills, and demonstrate adaptability in a busy ED setting. \n Unit Details: \n\n • Location: Emergency Department, 100 McGregor St, Floor A, Building 2004\n, • Capacity & Layout:\n\n, • 4 beds in a secure, locked psychiatric annex\n, • 25 procedure rooms (with curtains or doors)\n, • 8 hallway beds used around the clock\n\n\n, • Staffing:\n\n, • Total Staff: 88 (varied roles)\n, • Shift-specific staffing ratios and team composition detailed below\n\n\n, • Patient Population:\n\n, • Patients with multiple comorbidities including NEHI (New England Heart Institute) cases, cardiac conditions, DKA, sepsis, trauma, stroke, psychiatric cases\n\n\n, • Equipment & Technologies:\n\n, • Ultrasound, IV skills, Lucas device, Hotline Rapid Infuser, Alaris pumps, Pyxis medication system\n\n\n, • Deliver efficient and compassionate emergency care to patients with urgent and complex medical conditions\n, • Perform assessments, develop care plans, and execute clinical procedures such as trauma management, stroke care, laceration repairs, orthopedic trauma, ultrasound-guided IV insertions, IO insertions, EKG interpretation, and psychiatric evaluations\n, • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams\n, • Utilize advanced equipment proficiently and adhere to safety protocols\n, • Maintain accurate documentation within EMR systems\n, • Active and unrestricted.\n, • BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC are required for contract labor.\n, • Minimum of 2 years of recent ED experience for contract candidates, with strong assessment and critical thinking skills\n, • Proven ability to handle high-acuity situations and adapt quickly to changing priorities\n, • Excellent communication skills with patients, families, and team members\n, • Dependability, punctuality, and professionalism\n, • Proficiency in medical terminology\n, • At least 1 year of ED experience in HCA employment\n, • Additional certifications such as MOAB or advanced EKG interpretation\n, • Motivated, reliable, and patient-centered\n, • Creative problem solver with a proactive approach\n, • Trauma management\n, • Stroke protocols\n, • Laceration repair\n, • Orthopedic trauma care\n, • Ultrasound-guided IV placements\n, • IO insertions\n, • Eye exams\n, • EKG analysis\n, • Psychiatric interventions\n, • Dress Code: Scrubs (no hooded shirts or sweatshirts for safety reasons)\n, • Shift Schedule: Every other weekend for contract staff; every third weekend for HCA-hired personnel\n, • Unit Policies: Adherence to protocols based on chief complaints, including ordering labs, imaging, and medications as per departmental protocols\n Excite Health Partners Job ID #191580.
