The Sales Engineer will complete ROI modeling to help clients understand the value and cost effectiveness of DMG solutions. The Sales Engineer will provide sales support and client engagement through all phases of a client’s lifecycle. The Sales Engineer is responsible for relationship management of existing clients as well as networking for new business relationship development. The Sales Engineer will be expected to build long-term relationships with clients through trust and technical credibility. The Sales Engineer is expected to stay current on existing and emerging telecom technologies, competitive offerings and industry trends. Responsibilities • Own product demos-tailored to OSP managers, GIS leads, construction directors, and IT/security teams, • Design and deliver pilots: configure LOC, deploy tags, support field crews, and prove ROI within weeks., • Handle technical objections (security, integrations, workflows) with credibility and clarity., • Build and maintain demo environments, pilot templates, and technical collateral that make deals easier to close., • Act as the bridge between customer feedback and our product team—bringing back real-world insights from the field., • Train partners and early adopters on best practices for deployment., • Identify emerging market trends, customer needs, and competitive dynamics., • Evaluate potential partnerships, channels, and expansion strategies., • Build and nurture relationships with clients, partners, and industry stakeholders., • Represent the company at events, conferences, and client meetings., • Develop trust-based rapport that leads to long-term business growth., • Develop and implement growth strategies aligned with company goals., • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to launch new initiatives or services., • Create business cases and ROI models to support investment decisions., • Understand client needs to develop custom solutions designed to meet client-specific needs and objectives., • Report progress to senior leadership and recommend course corrections., • Improve internal workflows to support scalable business development., • Review and manage client escalations to resolution. Advise stakeholders on status during escalation lifecycle., • Other duties as prescribed. Required Skills, Knowledge, and Experience • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, telecommunications or experience equivalent., • Possession of valid driver license., • OSP standards and practices associated with facility-locate, drop, and installation/repair activity., • OSP planning, engineering, construction, and installation principles and procedures., • Comfort with infrastructure workflows: splicing, splitters, connectors, as-builts, GIS systems. You don’t have to splice, but you can speak the language., • Experience training customers or partners in technical rollouts., • Familiarity with GIS platforms, mobile apps, Geolocation, or IoT workflows., • Familiarity with vendor sourcing procedures, contracts, associated terms and conditions, and performance-management procedures., • Familiarity with target pricing for vendor-provided activity., • Understanding of federal, state, local, and company operational and safety standards., • Understanding of permitting requirements - including work zone protection and traffic control plans., • Familiarity with State One-Call-Center (811) underground facility locating guidelines across all states in the client footprint., • Deep understanding of the company’s telecom offerings and how they integrate with client environments or ability to learn and quickly come up to speed on new products and environments., • Familiarity with industry standards, compliance, and security protocols, • Experience with CRM platforms: Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar tools for tracking opportunities, • Experience supporting pilot-led sales cycles (4–12 weeks) and turning evaluations into rollouts, • Clear communicator with execs, engineers, and field crews alike, • LAN/WAN design, switches, routers, firewalls, and cloud services., • Ability to explain complex technical concepts in simple, compelling terms., • Experience in client facing roles, negotiation or partner development., • Crafting proposals, RFP responses, and solution documentation., • Confidently presenting solutions to technical and non-technical audiences, • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, • Proficient in Excel and Word, • Attention to detail., • Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills, • Project scheduling, updating, and due-date management., • Material inventory management., • Invoice, time sheet, and payment review and audits., • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, • Collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders including Customer Operations, Outside Plant Construction and Engineering, Logistics, Finance, Contract Administration, Corporate Sourcing, vendors, and federal, state, and local governing agencies., • Ability to work outdoors, extended driving, and lifting/carrying moderately heavy objects., • Ability to work overtime, be on call for nights and weekends and work as required to accomplish objectives., • Ability to travel as required.
