Job DescriptionCardiology - Physician Opportunity at Our Heart & Vascular Institute This role is for a Medical Director and practicing Cardiologist with a focus on advanced cardiac imaging within our Heart & Vascular Institute. The position encompasses clinical responsibilities, program development, strategic leadership, quality assurance, collaboration across disciplines, and mentoring within a large healthcare system. Candidates should possess significant expertise in cardiac MRI, CT, and nuclear imaging, along with the leadership capabilities necessary to advance clinical and research initiatives. 0.8 FTE Clinical + 0.2 FTE Medical Directorship | Heart & Vascular Institute | Salary range: $550,000 to $670,000 annually The Medical Director will engage in clinical activities as a general Non-Invasive Cardiologist, specializing in Advanced Imaging Interpretation. Key responsibilities will include patient care through clinic consultations, diagnostic evaluations, and inpatient coverage, as well as fostering the growth of the Advanced Imaging Program. Close collaboration with the echo lab medical director will be essential to uphold high-quality standards for cardiac MRI, CT, and echocardiography, ensuring compliance with accreditation requirements. This role will also involve ensuring that all medical programs are in line with our organization’s standards for quality care, while guiding physicians and advanced practice clinicians (APCs) to adhere to established guidelines. Together with their dyad partner and regional leadership, the Medical Director will formulate and execute strategic plans, assist in recruiting medical staff, and keep clinic personnel informed about organizational strategies and responses to current challenges. They will share responsibility for meeting financial performance targets and ensuring compliance with accreditation and organizational standards. Core Competencies: • Ability to think strategically while balancing specialty priorities with system-wide goals, • Proficient in building consensus and communicating persuasively with a diverse range of stakeholders, including physicians, APCs, administrators, and support staff, • Adaptable and effective in leading teams and programs under time-sensitive conditions, • Strong interpersonal skills with cultural sensitivity and an inclusive leadership approach Strategic Direction & Program Development • Establish and implement a roadmap for advanced imaging that aligns with our cardiovascular strategy, • Lead the initiation and expansion of Cardiac PET and enhance cardiac MRI/CT programs to address evolving patient needs, • Clinical Excellence & Quality Assurance, • Maintain Level III standards for cardiac CT/MRI and other imaging modalities, • Collaborate with interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, cardiac surgery, and radiology to support advanced procedures (e.g., TAVR, Mitral/Tricuspid interventions), • Mentor physicians and APCs; develop fellowship opportunities in advanced imaging, • Licensed Cardiologist in the State of Washington, • Member of the medical staff in good standing at our medical center, • Board-certified in the relevant specialty, • Possession of necessary drug licenses, • Minimum of 5 years as a practicing Cardiologist with Level III competency in cardiac MRI, CT, and nuclear imaging, • Participating provider status with Medicare and Medicaid Programs The listed compensation may include productivity or quality/service incentives, call pay, and additional shift incentives, as applicable. Furthermore, providers may have access to CME benefits.
