Project Description: Our team supports the CDC Public Health Infrastructure Center whose mission is to improve community health outcomes by strengthening state, tribal, local, and territorial health agencies. Job Summary: Work collaboratively with the government to help to deliver IT assets and IT infrastructure to government and contract employees. Manage small projects and analyze the data to make recommendations to the government. Work with the government to develop, manage, and advertise processes that are related to IT; make recommendations on ways to improve current processes. Responsibilities: • Provide support and website content updates according to the mission of the programs, • Participates in meetings, and contributes to technical design, reports, and other feedback mechanisms as appropriate, • Work with the team and respective stakeholders to revise documents, processes, etc. based on feedback and reports, • Design clean, consistent user interfaces based on best practices, user research data, and knowledge gained from product analysis; Adhere to established CDC.gov design guidelines, • Produce wireframes and interactive prototypes to depict the user interface, • Produce client-ready deliverables and documentation based on templates, • Perform cross-browser testing of Web sites and components and ensure all Web pages and Web files are 508 compliant, • Adhere to internal approval processes and clearance requirements prior to publishing, • Recommend and improve efficiency of Web solutions architecture, end-user experiences, search engine optimization, use of graphics, mobile optimization, and best practices, • Collect, aggregate, analyze and report website metrics (using Site Catalyst, Google Analytics, etc.), • Evaluate and contribute to the content of websites by ensuring the information is accurate, consistent, current, and organized in a manner suitable to its target audience, • Ensure all websites and components are compliant with all applicable CDC IT security policies, standards, and regulations., • Manage web/digital content around Center content updates & releases, • Coordinate needs for web/digital content, per release calendars or relevant events, • Manage schedule for digital deliverables for implementation across all Health Communication Science Office channels, and coordination needs for National Prevention Information Network channels., • Provide cross-cutting content coordination support, by directly interacting with Health Communications Team, Divisions, and Offices, • Coordinate with Offices, Divisions, and Health Communicators and writers to ensure high quality online content, • Ensure Center content creation and posting standards. Coordinate with Agency workgroups to ensure continuation of best digital content best practices., • Promote Digital First techniques and practices to writers, Divisions, Offices, • Manage content review cycles and clearance protocols, • Annual Content review of web pages - develop system, • Responsible for developing and maintaining web content inventories (internet/intranet), • Build schedule, needs for internet/intranet content updates. Ensure annual review schedule of web pages, coordinating with writers, Divisions, Offices to ensure timely reviews, • Assess new releases and Center priorities to make recommendations for digital content, • Ensure content is translated accurately across digital platforms, i.e., Social Media, Partner channels, apps, blogs, etc., • Serve as Center liaison with Offices and Divisions for web update coordination, • Continually review content needs for OD internet and intranet pages, namely identification of out-of-date content. Work with Offices and Division to ensure up-to-date content, • Assist in triaging digital content through established and appropriate clearance channels, • Ensure adherence of governmental and CDC standards for digital content, • Focus content on Digital First needs for digital assets, • Ensure content meets health literacy/plain language standards, • Ensure content meets 508/Accessibility Standards, • Ensure industry best practices are followed across digital channels, • Working with Offices and Divisions to build capacity/training for web content, make recommendations for content optimization., • Tracking and reporting web updates in a timely manner, • Coordination with Web Analyst and Behavioral Scientist on metrics, evaluation, and reporting for Center's digital assets, • Implement data-driven recommendations to practice for web content, • Work with Offices, programs, Divisions on SEO content recommendationsRequired Experience:, • Ability to obtain a government security clearance, • Excellent written communications skills required, • Experience making content and design recommendations for responsive websites or web applications., • Understand and apply Section 508 accessibility requirements, • Meet deadlines with both timeliness and quality; Have strong organization and time management skills; Balance and prioritize work across multiple projects, • Experience with code repositories and deployment processesPreferred Experience:, • Prior CDC experience preferredEducation & Training:, • BA / BS Degree in Communications, Web Design, or related field, • 3+ years of applicable web content management/development experienceSalary Range:, • $90,000-$100,000/yr, • Salary commensurate with experience.
