Duties & Responsibilities Purpose of Position: Under direct supervision of a licensed Nurse or other professional medical staff in a health care setting, performs a variety of clerical and health-related essential duties and responsibilities associated with patient care; performs related work. Examples of Typical Tasks: 1. Checks vital signs, weighs, and measures patients, obtains specimens and records findings on patient’s chart., 2. Instructs patients on how to obtain specimens for laboratory testing and performs basic specimen screening testing through dipstick and hemoccult. 1. Prepares collected specimens for pick-up by labeling and preparing required form(s)., 2. Performs vision and hearing testing and simple urinalysis., 3. Administers emergency first aid, including basic life support procedures., 4. Performs simple first aid such as dressing changes, bandaging and cleansing of wounds, irrigation and cleansing of ears., 5. Prepares patient for examination and assists medical provider during examination by providing necessary supplies/equipment. 1. Prepares examination room including cleaning and disinfecting of instruments and equipment., 2. Informs patients on proper preparation for various medical testing., 3. Interviews patient to obtain routine personal and medical information and appropriate health history., 4. Maintains, completes, processes and files patients’ charts, appropriate forms and documents., 5. Operates electrocardiograph equipment to record electrical wave tracing of the electrical currents of the heart muscle. Minimum Qualifications Qualification Requirements: 1. High school diploma or its educational equivalent, approved by a State’s Department of Education or a recognized accrediting organization; and, 2. Successful completion of training courses including the performance of phlebotomy and electrocardiography (EKG), or completion of a training program or programs that include the performance of phlebotomy and EKG, such as Phlebotomy Technician and EKG Technician training programs, a Patient Care training program, or a Medical Assistant training program; and 1. Holds, or obtains through facility orientation, a valid and current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA). Special Note: In addition to meeting the qualifications above, assignment to a long-term care facility requires New York State Nurse’s Aide certification. The CEDC Cannabis Staff Attorney will work to advance the CEDC’s mission of advocating for racial, economic, and social justice by providing legal advice, educational services, and other assistance to social & economic equity & CAURD cannabis licensees and applicants in a variety of areas, including incorporation, governance, application support, compliance (with corporate, employment, tax, cannabis and other laws), and real estate, zoning/land use, and lease issues. The Staff Attorney will also provide educational opportunities via workshops, trainings, and materials development. The Staff Attorney will also participate in relevant coalition work, including policy development, and support relevant grant-related responsibilities. The position offers a unique opportunity to provide pro bono legal services to the emerging cannabis industry in New York State. Licensed to practice law and in good standing in the State of New Jersey., 3. Minimum of seven (7) years of business or commercial litigation experience, including significant supervisory or management responsibilities., 4. Strong knowledge of New Jersey civil procedure, discovery, evidence and trial preparation., 5. Excellent organizational, analytical, negotiation and communication skills., 6. Must be proficient in LexisNexis, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office 365, and State and Federal e-filing systems; experience with case management software platforms (i.e., Legal Files) is highly preferred., 7. Ability to manage multiple cases and priorities in a fast-paced office environment., 8. Prior in-house experience or experience managing outside counsel is highly preferred., 9. Must possess a valid New Jersey driver’s license. BENEFITS & PAY: This position will be located at the headquarters building, located in Woodbridge, NJ. Toll-free commutation is available for employee travel to and from work on the NJ Turnpike and Garden State Parkway. This position is represented by AFSCME Local 3914. Members will receive an annual increment (PIP) to their base salary per the guidelines of the CBA.
