About the JCC of Greater Rochester The JCC of Greater Rochester is a mission-driven community organization rooted in Jewish values and open to individuals and families of all backgrounds. Originally built in 1973 and expanded multiple times over the past five decades, the campus reflects both the organization’s history and its future. The JCC is currently investing in facility upgrades, deferred maintenance, and long-term master site planning to ensure the campus continues to serve the community for generations to come. Responsibilities include performing routine cleaning, sanitizing high-traffic areas, maintaining restrooms and common spaces, and supporting the overall upkeep of the building. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Clean locker rooms, shower stalls, and washrooms daily to maintain sanitation and safety standards., • Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub, wax, and polish various floor surfaces using industrial cleaning equipment, including scrubbing and buffing machines., • Operate mechanized cleaning equipment such as vacuums, polishers, and buffers., • Wash interior and exterior windows according to the established schedule., • Strip and recoat all floor areas as needed and in accordance with scheduled maintenance., • Use ladders to clean walls, ceilings, vents, ceiling fans, and high or hard‑to‑reach areas., • Clean bathrooms, sink areas, offices, classrooms, common areas, and all other assigned spaces., • Dust all surfaces, including furniture, fixtures, equipment, and windowsills., • Move furniture and equipment to ensure thorough cleaning of all areas., • Remove stains from rugs, walls, floors, and other surfaces using appropriate cleaning chemicals and solutions., • Empty trash containers daily and ensure proper disposal of waste., • Safely handle and store various cleaning solvents, chemicals, and supplies in compliance with safety protocols., • Plan and organize work schedules for major cleaning tasks., • Perform seasonal tasks such as sweeping exterior walkways or removing snow as needed., • Report any maintenance or repair needs immediately to the supervisor., • Performs all duties as assigned., • Dependability & Reliability, • Attention to detail, • Strong Work Ethic, • Positive Attitude, • Effective Communication, • Time Management skills, • Ability to follow safety procedures The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
