Job Description STEAMspark is seeking a Credentialed Primary Montessori Guide to serve children ages 3 through 6. The Montessori Guide plays a multifaceted role in the classroom, supporting each child's holistic development while fostering independence, curiosity, confidence, concentration, and a love of learning that extends far beyond the classroom. We are looking for a credentialed Montessori Guide with the talent to lead an authentic Primary Montessori environment while enriching the experience with the STEAMspark curriculum. The Guide will be grounded in Montessori philosophy, materials, lessons, and the uninterrupted work cycle. AMI Credentialed Guides may be eligible for a signing bonus based on credential level, experience, and start date. Please note: Signing bonuses are exclusively available to Guides holding an AMI Montessori credential. Role & Responsibilities • Ignite the “spark” in the classroom., • Implement the Montessori philosophy and Primary curriculum within a thoughtfully prepared, multi-age environment for children ages 3 to 6., • Protect and support the uninterrupted Montessori work cycle and create conditions that promote concentration, independence, purposeful work, and intrinsic motivation., • Observe each child carefully and use those observations to guide individual and small-group lessons based on readiness, interests, and developmental needs., • Prepare, maintain, and continuously refine a peaceful, orderly, beautiful, and developmentally appropriate Montessori environment., • Present Montessori lessons and materials across Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Mathematics, Culture, and other areas of the Primary curriculum., • Support children's development of grace and courtesy, executive functioning, independence, social-emotional skills, and responsibility for themselves and their community., • Support children at different developmental and academic levels within the same classroom while maintaining a calm, focused learning environment., • Thoughtfully integrate age-appropriate STEAM experiences into the Montessori environment without disrupting the integrity of the Montessori curriculum., • Conduct and document ongoing observations and formal and informal assessments of children's academic, social, emotional, and developmental progress., • Use observation and assessment data to plan lessons, monitor progress, and provide appropriate levels of challenge and support., • Establish and maintain open, professional, and effective communication with children, families, colleagues, and administration., • Partner with classroom Assistants and school leadership to maintain consistency, safety, classroom culture, and fidelity to the Montessori approach., • Participate in parent conferences, school events, professional development, and other activities that support the school community., • Complete school-sponsored AMS/AMI Montessori training and professional development as assigned., • Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications • Associate's degree., • 3+ years of experience as a classroom teacher, Montessori Guide, and/or Montessori Assistant., • Existing AMI or AMS Montessori credential appropriate for the Primary / Early Childhood (3-6) age level. Preferred Qualifications • Bachelor's degree., • AMI Primary (3-6) Montessori credential., • Experience serving as a Lead Guide in a Primary Montessori classroom., • Experience supporting kindergarten-level academic expectations within a Montessori environment. Compensation • $55,000 to $65,000 annually, based on Montessori credentials, educational background, and relevant experience., • Signing bonus available for qualified AMI Credentialed Guides. Physical Requirements • Able to sit on the floor and work at child-sized tables for presenting lessons and interacting with children., • Able to lift at least 25 pounds., • Able to move throughout classroom and outdoor environments while supervising and supporting children.
