Job DescriptionMaintenance Technician – Industrial PlantLocation: McKinney, TX 75069 Shift: 1st Shift | Monday–Friday | 6:00am to 2:30 pm Pay: $22.00 – $26.00 per hour (DOE) Job Type: Full-TimePosition SummaryThe Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production equipment, building systems, and manufacturing machinery to ensure safe and efficient plant operations. This role supports continuous production by minimizing downtime, performing preventive maintenance, and responding quickly to equipment issues.Key ResponsibilitiesEquipment Maintenance & Repair • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems., • Perform corrective maintenance on production machinery such as extruders, mixers, conveyors, CNC machines, presses, or plastics-processing equipment., • Troubleshoot motors, gearboxes, bearings, pumps, sensors, drives, and control systems., • Replace defective machine parts, belts, valves, hoses, wiring, and other components.Preventive & Predictive Maintenance, • Follow established PM schedules and document completed tasks., • Inspect equipment for wear, leaks, abnormal noise, and other signs of failure., • Lubricate machinery, check alignment, and test equipment performance., • Assist in developing and improving preventive maintenance procedures.Production Support, • Respond to machine breakdowns and production calls to minimize downtime., • Assist operators with machine setups, adjustments, and line changeovers., • Calibrate and verify the accuracy of sensors, scales, and instrumentation.Safety & Compliance, • Follow all company safety guidelines, lockout/tagout procedures, and PPE requirements., • Ensure repairs comply with OSHA, electrical, and mechanical codes., • Participate in safety training, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.Facility & Utility Support, • Inspect and maintain facility infrastructure, including lighting, HVAC, compressed air, and piping systems., • Monitor boilers, chillers, or other utility equipment (depending on the plant)., • Assist with building repairs such as plumbing, minor carpentry, or painting.Documentation & Communication, • Record all maintenance activities in CMMS or maintenance logs., • Report recurring issues and recommend long-term corrective solutions., • Communicate effectively with supervisors, engineers, and production teams.QualificationsRequired, • High school diploma or GED., • 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience., • Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills., • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals., • Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in a manufacturing environment.Preferred, • Experience in plastics manufacturing, polymers, or extrusion., • Knowledge of PLCs, industrial controls, and automation systems., • Welding and fabrication skills (MIG/TIG/stick)., • Forklift certification or ability to obtain., • Maintenance certification or technical school training.Core Skills, • Mechanical aptitude, • Strong problem-solving abilities, • Electrical safety awareness, • Ability to work under pressure during equipment outages, • Teamwork and communication, • Attention to detailWork Environment, • Manufacturing plant with moving machinery, heat, noise, and chemical handling, • May require rotating shifts, overtime, or on-call duty, • Work may be performed at heights, in tight spaces, or in varying temperatures #75DA
