Overview: GovCIO is currently hiring for an Education Technology and Instructional Specialist to provide JSOU with educational support services with emphasis on military studies. This position will be located in Tampa, FL and will be a fully onsite position. Responsibilities: The Education Technology and Instructional Specialist provides hands-on educational technology and instructional support to JSOU faculty and staff, with a focus on military studies and professional military education. This role designs, manages, and sustains digital learning environments and courseware that support JSOU’s academic mission. The position requires close coordination with faculty, instructional designers, IT staff, and academic leadership. Key responsibilities include: Instructional Design and Course Development • Design and develop digital courseware, including videos, podcasts, interactive modules, and multimedia learning assets, in collaboration with faculty., • Translate instructional objectives into structured, effective course designs aligned with learning outcomes., • Advise faculty on the appropriate use of instructional technologies to enhance teaching and learning., • Upload, organize, tag, and publish course content within the JSOU eCampus system., • Configure course schedules, enrollment settings, and student rosters., • Manage user accounts and roles, including account creation, updates, permissions, and deactivation., • Review and audit course content for accuracy, usability, accessibility, and formatting compliance., • Conduct link validation, media playback testing, and functionality checks., • Support preparation and execution of course reviews, including Education Review Boards (ERBs) and Department Review Boards (DRBs)., • Provide Tier 1 support for faculty and students experiencing access, system, or functionality issues., • Assist with registration and resolve login or enrollment problems., • Monitor system performance and coordinate routine updates, patches, and backups with IT support., • Ensure secure handling of student and faculty data in accordance with DoD and institutional requirements., • Archive, back up, or remove content as directed., • Track and analyze course engagement, system usage, and user activity., • Generate reports and present findings in clear, visual formats for leadership and stakeholders., • Facilitate communication between faculty, instructional design, IT, and student services., • Lead faculty onboarding sessions and provide training on educational technologies and systems., • Support faculty professional development in instructional technology best practices., • Research, evaluate, and recommend emerging instructional technologies aligned with JSOU’s mission., • Design, test, and support pilot programs and system upgrades. #AR #NSS Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s Degree with 4+ years of relevant experience Required Skills and Experience: • Clearance Required: Active Secret, • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in instructional design, educational technology, or a related field, OR Four (4) years of experience in instructional design, focusing on content analysis, design, or development, • 4 + years of experience working with: Course authoring tools (e.g., Adobe Captivate, Articulate Storyline), Adobe Creative Cloud, and Microsoft Office., • Applying the Instructional Systems Design (ISD) model to in-person and distance learning courses., • Managing enrollment and attendance records., • Using SharePoint and Student Information Management Systems., • Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related discipline., • Experience supporting professional military education or military studies curricula., • Familiarity with accessibility standards and usability best practices. Posted Pay Range The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors. Posted Salary Range: USD $65,000.00 - USD $70,000.00 /Yr.
