Job DescriptionJob Title: Food Processing Production Mechanic Job Description The Food Processing Production Mechanic maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs a wide range of food processing equipment, utilities, and facility systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role focuses on preventive maintenance, timely repairs, and adherence to strict food safety and cGMP standards while collaborating with multiple departments to support production goals and continuous growth. Responsibilities • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain food processing equipment, machines, and facility systems to minimize downtime and support continuous production., • Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to ensure reliable operation and extend equipment life., • Diagnose and resolve issues with food processing machines, including steam and water-based equipment, using schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation., • Conduct basic industrial electrical troubleshooting and repairs, including PLC-related issues, to restore proper equipment function., • Use hand tools and appropriate test equipment safely and effectively to perform maintenance and repair tasks., • Follow lockout/tagout safety procedures during all service and repair activities to protect personnel and equipment., • Use personal protective equipment as required and maintain a strong focus on workplace safety at all times., • Comply with all rules and regulations outlined in the employee handbook, safety manual, and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) guidelines., • Perform repairs as needed and ensure work is completed in a timely and thorough manner to support production schedules and deadlines., • Report equipment malfunctions, breakdowns, and defective components to supervision as soon as possible when issues cannot be corrected immediately., • Support production teams by ensuring equipment is properly set up, maintained, and ready for operation in alignment with food safety and quality standards., • Collaborate with various departments to address equipment-related issues and contribute to continuous improvement of maintenance processes., • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with food manufacturing and cGMP requirements.Essential Skills, • Hands-on experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining food processing equipment and production machinery., • Strong mechanical aptitude with proven experience working on mechanical systems in a manufacturing or industrial environment., • Practical knowledge of electrical systems, including basic industrial electrical troubleshooting and repair., • Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems, including troubleshooting and maintenance., • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation to diagnose and repair equipment issues., • Proficiency using hand tools and related maintenance tools safely and effectively., • Experience with PLC troubleshooting and electrical troubleshooting in an industrial setting., • Familiarity with food processing and food production environments, including adherence to food safety standards., • Ability to follow lockout/tagout procedures and use personal protective equipment correctly., • Strong commitment to safety, cGMP compliance, and following established policies and procedures., • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines., • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Previous experience as a maintenance technician or production mechanic in food or beverage manufacturing., • Comfort working in a cGMP-regulated environment and maintaining high food safety and cleanliness standards., • Experience working with steam machines, water machines, and other utility-related food processing systems., • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate equipment issues clearly and promptly., • Flexibility to support production needs and adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic environment., • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to preventive maintenance and continuous improvement.Why Work Here?
