Job Description Job Title: Industrial Maintenance Technician (3rd Shift) Job Description This role is a fully competent Industrial Maintenance Technician position responsible for performing repairs, preventive and corrective maintenance on production machinery, blow mold equipment, and facility systems. You will ensure equipment runs safely and efficiently, support production operations, and uphold all corporate and regulatory safety standards in a high-volume manufacturing environment. Responsibilities • Perform repairs, preventive maintenance, and corrective maintenance on production machinery, blow mold equipment, and facility systems., • Ensure full compliance with corporate and plant safety standards as well as applicable laws and regulations from relevant regulatory agencies., • Install, adjust, and repair blow mold machines, trimmers, palletizers, conveyors, and other related production equipment., • Perform mold and neck tooling changes, including pin and other equipment changeovers, to support production requirements., • Inspect and replace pneumatic and hydraulic hoses to maintain safe and reliable operation., • Inspect, rebuild, and replace valves, pumps, motors, and related mechanical components., • Maintain machines in optimal processing condition by monitoring performance and addressing issues proactively., • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on all related equipment to minimize downtime and extend equipment life., • Weld, fabricate, and repair various machines and components as needed to support production and maintenance activities., • Troubleshoot and locate root causes of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic problems on blow mold machines, baggers, and support equipment, and perform effective repairs., • Utilize electrical troubleshooting skills, including working with 3-phase power and PLC-controlled systems, to diagnose and resolve equipment issues., • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation to support installation, repair, and modification work., • Operate blow mold or injection machines when required to support production needs., • Communicate frequently and clearly with other departments, including production and supervision, to coordinate maintenance activities and minimize production interruptions., • Follow instructions and work assignments provided by the Lead Industrial Maintenance Technician or Supervisor., • Adapt duties based on specific plant equipment and plant design, recognizing that responsibilities may vary by location., • Exercise sound professional judgment in daily tasks, seeking assistance on unusual or complex problems as needed., • Perform other duties as assigned by management to support overall plant operations and continuous improvement., • Work safely around moving mechanical parts and actively participate in maintaining a safe work environment. Essential Skills • Proven experience as an industrial maintenance technician in a production or manufacturing environment., • Strong mechanical maintenance skills, including repair and adjustment of production machinery and related equipment., • Hands-on experience with blow mold equipment, trimmers, palletizers, and related packaging or conveying systems., • Ability to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems., • Proficiency in troubleshooting and diagnosing root causes of equipment failures, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues., • Experience inspecting, rebuilding, and replacing valves, pumps, motors, and related components., • Ability to inspect and replace pneumatic and hydraulic hoses safely and correctly., • Welding and fabrication skills sufficient to repair and modify machines and components., • Electrical troubleshooting skills, including work with 3-phase power and industrial electrical systems., • Exposure to PLC troubleshooting in an industrial environment., • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation., • Capability to operate blow mold or injection machines when needed., • Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with other departments and leadership., • Ability to follow instructions from a Lead Industrial Maintenance Technician or Supervisor and work both independently and as part of a team., • Physical ability to stand and walk regularly; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms throughout the shift., • Physical ability to occasionally climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl while performing maintenance tasks., • Comfort working in a production environment with moving mechanical parts and fluctuating temperatures. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience working with conveyors and other automated material handling systems., • Experience in industrial maintenance within a high-speed manufacturing or production setting., • Familiarity with baggers and other support equipment used alongside blow molding operations., • Demonstrated ability to maintain machines in optimal processing condition through proactive monitoring and adjustments., • Experience performing structured preventive maintenance programs on a variety of industrial equipment., • Ability to apply disciplined, entrepreneurial thinking to identify improvements and support continuous improvement initiatives., • Comfort receiving work direction while also exercising sound professional judgment when addressing unusual problems., • Adaptability to perform duties that may vary by plant based on equipment types and plant layout. Work Environment This position operates in a production facility with regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and active manufacturing lines. The role is on 3rd shift, typically from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., requiring extended periods of standing and walking, frequent use of hands, and reaching with arms throughout the shift. You will occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl to access equipment and perform maintenance tasks. Temperatures inside the plant can fluctuate between hot and cold depending on seasonal changes, so you should be comfortable working in varying climate conditions. The environment is fast-paced and safety-focused, with regular interaction with blow mold machines, trimmers, palletizers, conveyors, baggers, and related support equipment, as well as mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Atlanta, GA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
