WE ARE HIRING RESIDENTIAL The Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides assistance to participants who need help with daily living skills, and other activities such as, activity development and training in social interaction. This position assists participants with bathing, feeding, toileting, laundry, and other self-care responsibilities. The DSP is responsible for safely accompanying participants to community resources, medical appointments, and other approved activities. The position is responsible for completing progress notes and making appropriate entries into the daily log book. They would also be responsible for scheduling and escorting the participants to medical appointments and acting as an advocate and liaison while on appointments. Administer medication, check MAR sheets and maintain participant medical records in compliance with OPWDD standards. Prepare case notes, read and make appropriate entries in facility logs daily. Review communication logs, Medication Administration Log and Medical Log at beginning of each shift. Participate as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team in the development, implementation and evaluation of the residents’ Plan of Care. Accompany participants to Cardio Club and participate in activities and carry out fire drills, evacuations and emergency procedures.
