Job Summary and Qualifications Registered nurse who demonstrates critical thinking skills and leadership within the department’s scope of services and patient care delivery. The ED Flow Facilitator is responsible for the overall movement of patients through the ED in a safe and efficient manner. This position will facilitate all patient care activities and be a liaison with the Nurse Manager, Assistant Nurse Manager and attending to ensure that care can be delivered in an efficient and safe manner. The ED Flow Facilitator is a role model for teamwork, leadership and professionalism in the ED. Follows policies and procedures of West Florida Hospital. Participates in the Quality Improvement process and adheres to West Florida Hospital standards of behavior. Your role will include: * Supports the mission, goals and objectives of the ED and organization. * Notifies the physician and other providers when tests are completed and patient is ready for disposition. * Monitors tracking board for incomplete and completed diagnostic tests * Assures that orders, collections and procedures are coordinated and completed timely * Assists with triaging, downloading incoming EMS patients and discharge of patients * Monitors room availability and turnover * Monitors the heat map and researches arrival to greet times >45 minutes and corrects negative time stamps. * Collaborates with the Assistant Nurse Manager regarding prioritization and patient flow. * Responsible and accountable for facilitating nursing care and patient flow within the ED. * Models a culture of outstanding customer service for employees, patients, families and physicians What qualifications you will need: * Florida RN license and/or approved multistate RN license required. Compact license holders have 60 days to obtain the Florida license after relocation. • BLS-AHA Provider issued card required within 30 days of start, • Associate Degrees RN in acute care environment is preferred, • NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date, • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date, • TNCC required within 1 year, • Advanced Cardiac LifeSpt, or ACLS Instructor must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date, • 1+years experience PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt, or PALS Instructor must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date, • A minimum of two (2) years as an RN in an Emergency Department is required Benefits HCA Florida North Florida Hospital, offers a total rewards package that supports the health, life, career and retirement of our colleagues.
