Job Description Medical Assistant - Community Care Camas Health Recovery Center Base Pay Rate: $26 - $30/hour, depending on experience At Camas Health Recovery Center (owned by the Kalispel Tribe of Indians), we treat our employees and team members like family. The Medical Assistant for Community Care supports the Camas Recovery Health Center, with a dedicated focus on the OneGen Patient Room in partnership with the Guardiant Health provider team, to foster an immersive care patient service. This is an onsite role at the Camas Recovery Health Center and serves as a key member of the Clinical Care Team, engaging directly with patients to foster well-being, support providers, and ensure delivery of excellent care. The MA provides a blend of clinical and administrative support, ensuring smooth patient flow, accurate medical recordkeeping, and compassionate member care. Generous employer contributions and perks, including: • Tuition Reimbursement (up to $2,000 annually), • Medical, Dental, Vision, EAP, • 401(k) match and onsite financial planning assistance, • Voluntary benefits include Coverage for Spouse & Children, Life Insurance, AD&D, Pet Insurance and many other options Summary of Functions Essential Duties and Responsibilities The Medical Assistants are responsible for preserving the integrity of the Camas Health Recovery Center properties by performing the following duties: • Experience directly providing care to individuals in a medical setting., • Proficient in Electronic Health Record systems, Microsoft and Google Suite, and medical office technology., • Accurately enter and maintain patient data, clinical results, and test documentation within EHR systems., • Conduct patient intake, including gathering medical history, reviewing prior records, and documenting reason for visit., • Coordinate referrals and authorizations, and manage diagnostic testing, supplies, equipment, and prescription refills., • Educate patients and answer questions as directed by the provider., • Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals while maintaining patient confidentiality and professional communication, both in person and by phone., • Strong organizational and time management skills to ensure steady workflows and quality patient care., • Proven track record of interactions with patients and the ability to gather information from those who may be in distress., • Strong analytical skills with knowledge of medical terminology, diagnoses, and CPT/ICD-10 coding., • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations., • Relay messages from patients and front office staff to providers., • Represent the office in a professional manner treating all coworkers and patients in a courteous and cooperative manner., • Attend and actively participate in staff meetings and rounds., • High school diploma (or equivalent) required., • Completion of a Medical Assistant Certification/Licensure Program from an accredited school (Associate's degree preferred)., • Minimum 1 year experience in a busy medical practice., • Strong understanding of medical terminology, CPT/ICD-10 coding, and EHR systems., • Proven ability to multitask and perform effectively in a high-demand environment., • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with diverse populations., • Superior customer service orientation with compassion and professionalism., • The nature of this position is fast-paced., • Computer-literate, with basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, and electronic medical records systems, as well as a high level of initiative in keeping current with technological change., • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, clients, and outside contacts from a wide variety of ethnic socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds; good diplomatic skills, including strong conflict-resolution skills., • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills., • Excellent organizational and time management skills., • Conducts all business activities in a professional and ethical manner., • Complies with and up-to-date with all other testing, screening, and credentialing as required. Other Requirements • Obtain and maintain a Level 3 Kalispel Tribe of Indians Work Permit., • Weekends and holidays may be required.
