Job DescriptionDescription: DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL JOB DESCRIPTION JOB DESCRIPTION/DUTIES: The Direct Support Professional supports consumers in living their best life as the Consumer defined it in their Individual Service Plan (ISP). Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) will: Support and motivate consumers to develop Independent Living Skills (ILS). Observe and report consumer's progress or setbacks. Teach and assist consumers with goals outlined in the ISP. This may include: planning and preparing meals, teaching and assisting consumers with developing and maintaining a laundry and housekeeping routine, assisting consumers with medical and dental appointments, and more. These are a few examples of the type of work he will be doing. The actual duties will be spelled out in the individual’s ISP. OTHER DUTIES AS NEEDED; INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO • To provide in-home and community-based assistance to consumers/clients according to individual service programs set up by Redwood Coast Regional Center (RCRC) and Professional & Attentive Care Providers (PACP)., • To teach and assist all consumers in the areas outlined in the individual’s ISP., • To document daily charting notes and required paperwork., • To report any issues and concerns regarding consumers to PACP Supervisor, Program Manager, or Program Director., • To attend in-service training sessions and meetings when offered and complete required weekly continuing education. High School Diploma or equivalent. HIRING CRITERIA AND QUALIFICATIONS: • Must be able to pass a background check., • Must be able to speak, read, and write English., • Ability to pass drug screen at the request of PACP., • Must be able to work with people who have disabilities., • Possession and proof of a valid California Driver’s License, current vehicle insurance, a good driving record, and willingness to use your personal vehicle in the course of employment if transporting consumers. In the absence of these qualifications, no driving of a consumer is ever permitted., • Complete PACP Orientation training, which includes: ISP, IPP, Abuse Prevention, Mandated Reporter, Person-Centered Approaches, Thinking, and Planning, Client Rights… Signature of Applicant/Employee Date Requirements:
