Job Description JOB-19182 Medical Secretary-25451 This is a PART-TIME position Hours/shift:• 7.5 hours per week • Schedule to be discussed during interview Job description - Perform clerical duties utilizing specific knowledge of medical terminology and procedures: • Act as the liaison between the provider/biller, facility medical office, Bureau of Health Services, and Accounts Payable., • Review and process patient charges by reviewing invoices/bills containing Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) codes., • Ensure that the medical services provided regarding agreed upon fee schedules. Adjust fees on invoices when needed., • Work closely with the Bureau of Health Services to review and verify documentation regarding billed medical services., • Manage agreements with providers regarding agreed upon fee schedules., • Check bills to confirm that the correct, agreed upon fee schedule was applied., • Process incoming/outgoing correspondence related to vendor invoices and billing., • Sort and deliver invoices/bills to designated personnel. Qualifications: • Certification as a medical coder or training/courses in medical coding, billing, and understanding of medical terminology., • Experience with NYS Medicaid coding and billing., • Experience in healthcare, medical coding, medical billing, and customer service., • Strong working knowledge of medical coding and billing processes., • Working closely with healthcare providers to ensure accurate documentation and compliance with coding standards., • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain organized and detail-oriented while managing multiple tasks.
