Job Description Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant Job Description This full-time Certified Nursing Assistant role focuses on providing high-quality patient care and support in a large rehabilitation and skilled nursing facility. You will assist with daily care activities, maintain a clean and safe environment, support patients’ nutritional needs, and ensure prompt response to patient calls, all while working closely with the charge nurse and interdisciplinary team. Responsibilities • Attend meetings, orientations, and trainings as directed by the charge nurse and management to stay current with policies, procedures, and best practices., • Clean and tidy patient rooms and assigned areas each shift, ensuring all items and spaces are organized, properly labeled, and maintained according to facility policies., • Serve meals in a timely manner, assist patients with nutrition as needed, and report any changes in dietary intake or appetite to the charge nurse promptly., • Respond immediately to lighted call bells as a call for help, regardless of patient assignment, and ensure patients always have easy access to their call bell by placing it within reach., • Maintain patient safety at all times by observing and correcting environmental hazards, using protective devices as ordered, and following all emergency, fire, and disaster procedures as taught., • Report to the charge nurse any items that need to be ordered, repaired, or that are missing, helping to maintain adequate supplies and functioning equipment., • Document all care provided on the appropriate forms accurately and completely during and at the end of each shift., • Follow directions from the charge nurse and report back clearly and promptly on tasks, patient status changes, and any concerns., • Provide high-quality customer service to patients, families, and colleagues by communicating clearly, respectfully, and professionally., • Use designated healthcare support systems, including electronic documentation platforms such as SigmaCare, to record and access patient information as required. Essential Skills • Certified Nursing Assistant certification from an accredited program., • High school diploma or its equivalent., • At least 6 months of experience working in a similar healthcare or patient care setting, with openness to entry-level candidates who are bilingual in Spanish., • Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to patient care and documentation., • Demonstrated patient care skills in a rehabilitation, skilled nursing, or similar environment., • Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members., • Ability to follow directions from the charge nurse and provide timely, accurate feedback and updates., • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills to ensure accurate documentation and safe care delivery., • Patience, empathy, and the ability to work with individuals requiring short- or long-term care., • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft applications., • Ability to work the 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. full-time shift., • Ability to work at least every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday) as a non-negotiable requirement. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Bilingual Spanish skills, especially valued for candidates with limited prior experience., • Experience using healthcare support and electronic health record systems, including SigmaCare., • Strong commitment to high-quality customer service in a healthcare setting., • Interest in long-term career growth in a rehabilitation and skilled nursing environment., • Ability to adapt to a diverse patient population and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team. Work Environment Dedicated to providing quality care through diverse programs and services that support health and independence for individuals needing short- or long-term care. You will work a full-time 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. shift and must be available to work at least every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday). The facility utilizes healthcare support technologies, including electronic documentation systems such as SigmaCare and standard Microsoft applications, to support patient care and recordkeeping. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Rochelle, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
