This is a full-time position that works Monday – Friday 8:30am -5:30pm. The pay is $16-17 per hour with merit increases depending on experience and qualifications. This role is located at our center: 1118 W Oak Ridge Rd, Orlando, FL 32809 The VPK Teacher coordinates engaging developmental activities, implements curriculum that prepares children for school, and enhances their pre-reading, pre-math, language, and social skills. The Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) Teacher serves as a model and mentor. Why You’ll Love Working for Us: • Paid time off and holidays, • Aflac Benefits, • 401K, • Incentive Pay / Merit Increases, • Professional Development, • Childcare Discount, • Medical and Dental Insurance What You’ll Do: • Coordinate and implement educational curriculum for children preparing for primary school kindergarten by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards while making lesson plans that are also sensory rich, • Lead by example and encourage success through modeling and coaching, • Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to engage children and encourage social, cognitive, and emotional growth, • Maintain a personal and professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement while following all facility policies and state regulations, • Develop a careful and creative program suitable for preschool children, • Understanding the developmental stages of early childhood, • Encourage children to develop language skills, a community-spirited classroom through sharing, caring and self-regulation while also encouraging independent feeding and self-help skills, • Track children’s progress and reporting to parents, • Collaborating with other educators, • Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards What We Need from You: • High school Diploma and/or degree in related field of study required, • FL DCF 45 hours Required with VPK Endorsements and a CDA required, • Must clear a full level II DCF background check, • At least 2 years of professional early childhood training/experience, • CPR, First Aid, and Fire Extinguisher Certification completion within 30 days of employment, • Fluent in both English and Spanish is a Plus Oakridge Children’s Academy and Daycare is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
