We are currently hiring for a Full Time PET/CT dual licensed technologist for our fast paced multi-specialty practice. Our scan volume consists of treatment planning simulations, CTs of whole body, PET scans of whole body and specialty PET scans. • Performs Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT and CT Imaging studies, • Handles, administers, calculates dosage and prepares Radionuclides as required, • Maintains records in accordance with departmental policy and procedures as well as within state requirements, • Performs basic patient care within scope of practice and to departmental standards, • Assists in Radiology department as needed, • Markets to local area physician referral base to promote PET/CT, • Responsibility to adhere to the company compliance plan, to the rules and regulations of all local, state, and Federal agencies, and to the standards of all accrediting bodies, • Positions patient and equipment, changes collimators, selects technical factor and processes data to produce images meeting Radiologist standards, in a safe and timely manner, • Processes images with correct patient demographic and examination information. Submits images, with adequate clinical information for review by Radiologist, as appropriate, • Assists in disaster or other emergencies dealing with possible radioactive material contamination, • Maintains radioactive materials records as well as quality assurance records, disposal records as required by department policy and State regulations, • Performs daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly surveys, quality assurance testing and calibrations as required by State regulations, • Performs clerical duties, including answering telephone, completing patient record, • Transports, lifts, moves and positions patients as needed to properly and safely complete procedures, to assist others to and from, as well as within the department or to assist patient movement, • Operates all equipment and uses Radioactive Materials in a safe and effective manner, with proper attention to radiation, electrical and mechanical safety, • Performs direct patient care duties within technologists scope of practice. Utilizes proper infection control and BSI techniques, • Performs basic patient care, including monitoring of patient condition, caring for patient comfort, safety and privacy, • Obtains patient history and explains procedures, • Maintains clean, well-stocked work area, • Rotates though standby call on a periodic basis, • Technologist may be asked to review invoices, review records with health physics consultants, • May be questioned by regulatory agency inspectors. Assists with dose calculation and administration of therapeutic nuclides, • Performs basic equipment maintenance, coordinating service calls as required, • Assists the RSO in disaster or other emergencies dealing with possible radioactive material contamination, • General imaging, record keeping and monitoring are routine but must be performed and coordinated independently • Must be a graduate of an ARRT or NMTCB approved program, must be dual licensed for PET and CT, • Current Florida Nuclear Medicine license, • BLS required, • ARRT or NMTCB registered This facility is an equal opportunity employer and complies with federal, state and local anti-discrimination laws, regulations and ordinances.
