Job Description Best Buddies International is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to establishing a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment, leadership development, inclusive living, and family support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Best Buddies is the largest organization dedicated to ending the social, physical and economic isolation of the 200 million people worldwide with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Our programs empower people with IDD to form meaningful friendships with their peers, secure jobs, improve communication and advocacy skills, and live independently, while also offering support for their families. Job Title: Director of Medical Outreach, Eunie’s Buddies Department: State Operations and Programs Reports to: Senior Director, Eunie’s Buddies Direct Reports: 0 Location: Miami Salary Range: $65,000 - $70,000 Position Overview: The Director of Medical Outreach, Eunie’s Buddies, leads strategic efforts to ensure families who have recently received an intellectual and developmental disability (IDD) diagnosis are connected to the program early in their journey. This role builds and maintains partnerships with the full spectrum of healthcare providers who may diagnose or treat a child with an IDD, establishing strong referral pipelines so families receive timely, compassionate support. The Director also develops tools, resources, and training to help medical providers deliver diagnoses with empathy, clarity and care, while making it simple for them to connect families to Eunie’s Buddies without increasing provider workload. In addition to outreach, the Director coaches and supports Eunie’s Buddies Deputy Directors nationwide, equipping them to build strong local medical partnerships. By focusing exclusively on the medical community, the Director of Medical Outreach ensures Eunie’s Buddies consistently and effectively reaches families at the point of diagnosis and beyond. Job Qualifications – Qualified applicants must have: • Minimum five years of experience in medical outreach, healthcare partnerships, nonprofit programs, or community engagement, • Strong understanding of patient and family support needs, particularly for families navigating new diagnoses, • Proven experience working with medical professionals, hospitals, and clinical settings., • Nonprofit or advocacy experience strongly preferred, along with a strong commitment to the mission of Best Buddies., • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust across diverse groups, including doctors, nurses, social workers, and families, • Excellent public speaking and training facilitation abilities, • Strong project management skills with the ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Canva, CRM/databases, and video conferencing tools, • Confidence representing the organization at medical and community events, • A collaborative, team-player attitude with the ability to both lead and support colleagues across states, • Experience developing referral systems or managing partnership pipelines preferred., • Ability to travel and work evenings/weekends as needed, • Access to an automobile/transportation with applicable insurance, • Must use a personal cell phone for work-related duties, • Eunie’s Buddies will prioritize candidates based in the Miami area. However, for the right candidate, a fully remote arrangement will be considered. This is a national-facing role supporting medical outreach efforts across multiple states. Experience working within hospital systems, healthcare networks, or clinical environments is highly valued. Job Duties include, but are not limited to: Programs • Develop and implement a comprehensive medical outreach strategy to secure, • meetings and present Eunie’s Buddies to healthcare providers, • Build and maintain strong relationships with hospitals, pediatric practices, OB/GYN offices, birthing centers, therapy clinics, and other specialists who diagnose or treat children with IDD, • Create and sustain referral pipelines that connect families to Eunie’s Buddies at the point, • of diagnosis, • Devise and implement innovative strategies to position Eunie’s Buddies as the leading, • referral resource for families navigating a new diagnosis, • Provide coaching and support to Eunie’s Buddies Deputy Directors on executing effective local medical outreach to align with program goals, • Create materials, toolkits, and training modules that help medical providers deliver diagnoses with empathy, clarity, warmth and objectivity, • Collaborate with providers to identify barriers in the diagnosis process and co-develop solutions that reduce stress for families and staff, • Design user-friendly referral resources and systems (e.g., brochures, scripts, videos, digital tools) that simplify connecting families to the program, • Explore opportunities to educate future medical professionals through awareness- building sessions that highlight family perspectives and lived experiences, • Monitor and analyze referral data and family engagement outcomes to evaluate effectiveness, report impact, and identify areas for continuous improvement, • Provide medical outreach content for marketing campaigns, newsletters, and social media to highlight impact and partnerships, • Cultivate healthcare partnerships that may also generate fundraising or sponsorship opportunities, • Collaborate with development staff to identify grants and initiatives connected to healthcare engagement Best Buddies® is an affirmative action employer, in addition to an EOE and M/F/V/PWD/PV employer.
