Job DescriptionDescriptionAlta Planning + Design is hiring an Outreach Specialist (TDM Programs Level I or II, based on qualifications) for our Atlanta office. This is a role for someone who finds meaning in the work of connecting people to places and who genuinely believes that transit, biking, carpooling, and walking are not just alternatives to driving alone, but better ways to move through communities. This role will support a portfolio of Atlanta-based Transportation Management Associations (TMAs) that Alta manages, working directly with employers and commuters across the region - building relationships, helping commuters navigate their options, making the case for cleaner commutes, and connecting people with the resources and support to actually make a change. This role directly supports that work, helping employees across the Atlanta region rethink their commutes and access resources that make sustainable options (transit, carpool, biking, etc.) more practical and appealing. The Outreach Specialist (TDM Programs Level I or II) will spend much of their time on the following types of project work: • Planning and staffing in-person outreach events, including transportation fairs, kiosks/expos, tabling, lunch-and-learns, and other in-person engagement tactics (Estimated 50+% of the time)., • One-on-one interaction with commuters, knowledgeably and persuasively discussing travel options (such as transit and carpooling), transportation service details, specialized program offerings, and more. This could occur in person, via virtual meetings, email, telephone, digital platforms, and more. (Estimated 30% of the time)., • Assisting project managers with various administrative tasks in support of program efforts. (Estimated 20% of the time). While no two days in this role are exactly alike, here are common work activities that will make up your week:, • Setting up and staffing outreach efforts at project sites across the Atlanta region. These events connect commuters with valuable, free information for sustainable travel options, commuter programs, and services to choose from when getting to work., • Participating in employer-facing outreach, transportation program related sales, and partnerships, with the support and collaboration of other team members and local partners, • Planning and staffing outreach efforts such as community events, transportation fairs, employee benefits fairs, lunch and learns, tabling at local fairs and festivals, and other in-person engagement tactics., • Supporting transportation mode-specific campaigns, such as Bike to Work Day, travel behavior incentive programs, and Try Transit events., • Coordinating with community partners (e.g., neighborhood association representatives and nonprofit organizations) to organize custom community events for program participants (e.g., neighborhood walks, beginner group bike rides, group bus trips to community destinations), • Coordinating logistics for events, including transporting equipment, managing deliveries and staffing/facilitating/leading planned events., • Representing Alta’s clients and specific programs warmly and professionally, • Supporting data collection tasks to inform program measurement and evaluation, potentially including tracking event-related details and metrics (e.g., reach and materials distribution), conducting digital or verbal surveys and implementing focus groups., • Collaborating with and supporting project staff on varied tasks such as inventory management, material organization, meeting coordination, printing, mailings, flyer distribution, ordering food or supplies, and other logistics., • Communicating frequently and appropriately with project staff at Alta and Alta clients through email, Microsoft Teams, and/or phone., • Assisting Alta project managers with project management work, including data analysis, project reports, invoicing, and budgeting., • Comfortable conducting in-person outreach independently and as part of a team, • Outgoing and able to connect with people from a variety of backgrounds, • Computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications and video conference platforms., • Excellent written and oral communication skills for all types of customer service interactions, • Excellent organizational skills and task-oriented, • Ability to manage, analyze, and engage with a large database of contacts, • Ability to staff in-person events outside of traditional business hours, including on weekends and/or in early mornings or evenings., • Ability to access and work effectively across a variety of work locations – project sites, in-office work, collaborating remotely, • Ability to lift, carry, and transport 25+ lbs, • Self-motivated and proactive in their day-to-day work PreferredThere are a number of additional skills, experience, and education that would be beneficial to this position including, but not limited to:, • A bachelor's degree or higher in a related field (hospitality, communications, business, marketing, environmental studies, or others), • Knowledge of local and regional public transportation and commuter service in the Atlanta region, • Passion for the sustainable transportation industry is highly desirable, • Experience with planning and executing public outreach events BenefitsAlta offers comprehensive benefits to all full-time employees: • Medical: PPO or HSA medical plans, Alta pays 75% of the cost, • Dental/Vision: PPO, Alta pays 90% of the cost, • Life Insurance: Alta pays 100% of the premium for life and AD&D, equal to your base compensation, • 401(k): Alta provides a safe harbor match up to 3%, • PTO: 21 days accrued annually to start, • Holidays: 11 total company paid holidays, • Paid Parental Leave/Short-Term Disability, • Additional Benefits: Wellness reimbursement up to $800 annually, Alta Gets Around benefit of up to $900 annually, 5-year travel award, and professional development opportunities#LI-CL1
