Operating with a lean team of 75, we prioritize operational excellence, food safety, and customer satisfaction across every batch we produce.Position SummaryWe are seeking a hands-on, experienced Bakery Production Manager to lead all production operations at our facility. This is a critical leadership role responsible for managing daily production, enforcing compliance with food safety protocols, mentoring staff, and driving performance metrics through continuous improvement and strong team leadership.Candidates must have at least 6 years of commercial bakery experience and a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory or management role within food manufacturing.Key Responsibilities • Oversee and manage daily bakery production schedules to meet throughput and quality targets., • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 35+ employees including supervisors, table leads, and operators., • Enforce compliance with all GMP, HACCP, OSHA, FDA, and food safety protocols., • Minimize downtime and increase production yields by identifying and implementing process improvements., • Collaborate cross-functionally with QA, Maintenance, Logistics, and other departments to ensure smooth operations., • Maintain and audit accurate documentation for compliance, traceability, and reporting., • Provide hands-on leadership on the production floor with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency., • Support SQF food safety practices and act as the SQF backup practitioner when QA leadership is unavailable., • Utilize bakery production systems including SAP, PRIMS, E-Maintenance, and Safety Chain., • Train staff in the proper use of bakery equipment such as mixers (Hobart/Pearless), proofers, ovens, Konig, Rheon, Unifiller, Handtmann, flow wrappers, and inkjet coders., • Monitor labor costs, control overtime, and maintain alignment with production budgets., • Ensure cleanliness, proper line changeovers, and adherence to SSOPs., • Serve as a primary point of escalation for any production-related issues.Required Qualifications, • Minimum 6 years’ experience in a commercial bakery environment (industrial scale required)., • Minimum 3 years’ supervisory/management experience in food manufacturing., • Strong working knowledge of bakery equipment and processes., • High school diploma or GED required., • HACCP, OSHA, and Food Safety certifications preferred., • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and able to adapt to proprietary systems., • Detail-oriented with excellent leadership, communication, and time management skills.Top 3 Must-Have Competencies, • Deep knowledge of industrial bakery operations and ability to operate and troubleshoot related equipment., • Strong leadership and team development skills with the ability to motivate and hold teams accountable., • Extreme attention to quality, safety, and performance metrics in a fast-paced environment.Tools, Equipment & Systems You’ll Use, • Systems: SAP, PRIMS, E-Maintenance, Safety Chain, Excel, • Equipment: Hobart & Pearless mixers, ovens, proofers, Konig, Rheon, Handtmann, Unifiller, Pita Divider, X-ray/metal inspection systems, flow wrappers, inkjet coders, palletizing systemsBenefits, • 401(k) Retirement Plan, • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance, • Paid Time Off (PTO), • Maternity & Paternity Leave, • Commuter BenefitsHiring Timeline, • Start Date: Immediate, • Urgency: High, • Interview Process: 3 in-person rounds with the Owner, HR, and COOThis is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a motivated bakery professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and is passionate about people, quality, and operational excellence.
