Job Overview The Program Manager II (PM2) is responsible for independently managing small-to-medium complexity programs and leading major workstreams within larger programs under the guidance of a Senior Program Manager. The PM2 plays a key role in driving program execution, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring cost, schedule, and performance objectives are met. This position supports unmanned systems programs that may incorporate additive manufactured components, rapid prototyping, and accelerated development and production cycles. The PM2 is expected to demonstrate increasing autonomy, sound judgment, and leadership while serving as a primary interface for internal teams and, as assigned, external customers. Essential Functions • Manage assigned programs or program workstreams, ensuring execution against cost, schedule, and performance commitments., • Develop, maintain, and execute Integrated Master Schedules (IMS), coordinating dependencies across engineering, manufacturing, test, quality, and supply chain., • Serve as the primary day-to-day point of contact for internal stakeholders and, as assigned, customers., • Coordinate execution of programs incorporating additive manufactured components, including supplier coordination, schedule integration, configuration management, and readiness tracking., • Track program budgets, forecasts, and actuals; identify variances and recommend corrective actions., • Lead program risk and opportunity management activities, including development and execution of mitigation plans., • Prepare and deliver program status reports, internal reviews, and customer briefings., • Coordinate subcontractor and vendor activities, including development of statements of work, schedule tracking, and performance oversight., • Ensure program compliance with safety, quality, regulatory, and contractual requirements., • Support proposal development and capture activities by developing schedules, cost inputs, and execution strategies; may lead discrete proposal work packages., • Mentor PM1s and support development of junior program staff., • Perform other duties as assigned., • Regular and reliable attendance on a full time basis - Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal and external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company's policies and practices., • Embodies AEVEX's cultural values and aligns daily actions with department goals and company culture. Qualifications and Competencies • Solid understanding of program management principles, processes, and best practices., • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; strong working knowledge of Microsoft Project required., • Demonstrated experience developing and managing Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) for technical programs., • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with technical teams, leadership, and customers., • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and resolve issues in a dynamic, fast-paced environment., • Analytical and solution-oriented, with the ability to assess technical, schedule, and cost impacts and take proactive action., • Demonstrated ownership, accountability, and follow-through., • Experience working in aerospace, defense, unmanned systems environments preferred., • Experience supporting or managing programs involving additive manufacturing processes, rapid prototyping, or low-rate production preferred. Education/Certifications • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Aerospace, Mechanical, Systems Engineering, Business, or a related discipline required., • Master's degree in Engineering, Program Management, or Business Administration preferred., • Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), or DAU-equivalent certification preferred or in progress., • Familiarity with aerospace standards and frameworks such as AS9100, DoD acquisition processes, and systems engineering fundamentals preferred., • Exposure to additive manufacturing standards, tools, or training (ASTM, SAE, or similar) is a plus. Experience • 7+ or more years Program/Project Management experience.
