We are seeking an experienced MECHANICAL INSPECTOR with HVAC, Hydronic Piping, Building Automation Systems (Client) Construction experience for a full-time position located in Austin, Texas. We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Inspector across multiple disciplines to support ongoing infrastructure improvements at ABIA. These roles are critical to ensuring quality, safety, and compliance with contract documents and applicable codes. Inspectors will be responsible for field verification, documentation, and coordination with contractors and stakeholders throughout the construction lifecycle. Minimum Qualifications • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the construction industry, • Demonstrated aviation-related construction experience, including work on taxiways, runways, terminals, and underground utilities, • Ability to pass a TSA criminal history background check, • In-depth knowledge of environmental codes and regulatory requirements, • Familiarity with discipline-specific codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IMC, IPC, SMACNA, IBC, IEEE), • Ability to interpret and coordinate with third-party inspection reports, • Strong understanding of contract documents, technical specifications, and design standards, • Valid Driver's License Key Responsibilities, • Conduct field inspections to verify conformance with approved contract documents and applicable codes, • Review contractor work for compliance with specifications, manufacturer instructions, and regulatory standards, • Coordinate daily activities with third-party inspectors and project stakeholders, including ABIA Operations, Environmental teams, City inspectors, and AUS personnel, • Document deficiencies and communicate findings to the Contractor and CDS inspectors in a timely manner, • Support Construction Managers in verifying installed quantities for Pay Applications, • Maintain accurate daily inspection reports detailing work reviewed and observations made, • Participate in change management processes and assist in schedule evaluations, • Navigate and utilize project documentation including design drawings, specifications, Design Standards Manual, and contract terms, • Occasional night-time work may be required based on project demands Technical Proficiency, • Bluebeam, • Microsoft Office Suite, • Procore, • SharePoint, • The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving machinery & mechanical parts, uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to loud noise, and outside weather conditions. Physical Requirements:, • The physical requirements must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Intermittent unassisted sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, stooping, crawling, pushing and lifting is required. Must be able to walk and/or stand for prolonged periods of time for at least eight hours per day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move light equipment up to 50 pounds without assistance. Must be alert to equipment in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, ability to walk on uneven ground while physically maneuvering construction sites, ability to work in extreme temperatures or humidity, and potentially work at heights. Other Requirements:, • Possession of a valid state of residence driver's license with a clean driving record., • Daily travel to and from construction sites, generally within 100 miles from the home office is expected. Short term, out of town, assignments may be required. Long term, out of town, assignments may be required, with advance notice of planned dates., • May be required to work protracted and irregular hours to meet client's needs, including nights, overtime and weekends., • All positions at Foster CM Group require an applicant who has accepted an employment offer to undergo a background check.
