Essential Position Responsibilities * Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations including detailed medical histories and physical examinations focused on pain-related conditions. * Assist physicians in diagnosing and managing acute and chronic pain disorders such as musculoskeletal pain, neuropathic pain, spine-related conditions, arthritis, and post-surgical pain. * Order and interpret diagnostic tests including laboratory studies, imaging, and other relevant procedures. * Assist with pre-procedure and post-procedure care for interventional pain management treatments such as injections and other minimally invasive procedures. * Develop and implement individualized pain management treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians. * Provide medication management including monitoring patient response to analgesics and other pain-related therapies. * Educate patients on pain management strategies, medication adherence, lifestyle modifications, and non-pharmacologic pain control methods. * Coordinate care with primary care physicians, physical therapists, neurologists, orthopedic specialists, and other providers. * Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic health record (EHR). * Participate in quality improvement initiatives and interdisciplinary team meetings to support optimal patient outcomes. Qualifications Education: Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program. Certification: National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) certification required. Licensure: Active or eligible Physician Assistant license in New York. DEA registration (or eligibility). Experience: Prior experience in pain management, orthopedics, neurology, physical medicine and rehabilitation, or internal medicine preferred.
