This position will cover both the Buffalo and Rochester, NY market areas and can be based in either city. Salary: $95,000-$110,000. Essential duties and responsibilities include staffing, training, and developing sales employees; analyzing sales statistics to assist route salespersons and distributors in growing sales; meeting with key clients, assisting sales team with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals; developing and implementing local sales plans to accommodate corporate goals; monitoring sales forecasting activities and setting performance goals accordingly; monitoring daily records of sales or deliveries; performing any and all duties of route sales person, warehouse load coordinators, or distributors in their absence; reviewing market analyses to influence customer needs, price schedules, and maximize sales; assisting with finding new distributors for open territories and training new distributors according to company standards; maintaining buyer contact with chain stores and independent store groups; preparing and managing promotional schedule for area; reviewing sales orders to maximize sales; encouraging the use of sales and merchandising techniques with employees and existing distributors; working with sales teams on proper display, point of purchase and off shelf locations for company; assisting distributors and route salespersons with new store start up, rack installations, and product support; performing market checks for proper product quantity, mix, codes, display and back stock pack out; attending assigned store resets; attending store grand openings; working chain and independent store sampling events; handling issues impacting product delivery; learning and championing Martin's technology; preparing periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion; monitoring and evaluating the activities and products of the competition; listening to and resolving service complaints; maintaining local fleet for preventive maintenance and cleanliness; managing product storage facility; supporting other Sales Managers on a daily basis; and adhering to safety, food safety, and Good Manufacturing Practices regulations. Supervisory responsibilities include directly supervising employees and supporting distributors in assigned area. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. A.) from four-year College or University; Three years supervisory experience; Two years' related experience and/or training; or Equivalent combination of education and experience. Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Computer Skills: Proficient to advance in computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suites and Microsoft Excel. Ability to easily learn new technologies. Experience in SharePoint preferred. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Current, valid driver's license. Current, valid DOT Medical Card or ability to pass DOT physical examination. Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must be able and willing to work flexible schedule to include Sundays and Wednesdays and be on-call 24-7. Ability to travel-approx. 20% overnight travel, 80% day travel within sales area. Must possess or be able to pass a DOT physical if needed.
