Midland is known for its friendly community, vibrant downtown, and easy access to West Texas outdoor adventures—an excellent location for travel nurses seeking both professional growth and quality of life. \n\nJob Details\n\n • Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,820 - $1,910\n, • Position: Travel Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) / Travel Nurse\n, • Location: Midland, TX 79701 — Midland healthcare / Texas travel nursing opportunity\n, • Contract Duration: 12 weeks (April 27, 2026 – July 20, 2026)\n, • Shift: Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (07:00 – 19:00)\n, • Hours per Week: 36\n, • Employment Type: Travel, On-Site (Emergency Department nurse role)\n, • Unit: Emergency Department (ED) – 42 beds, high-volume trauma and acute care\n\n\nMinimum Qualifications / Requirements\n\n, • Minimum 2 years recent Emergency Department (ER) experience in a similar-sized facility (ED nursing / trauma nurse experience)\n, • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required (pending license accepted; must be active before start)\n, • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC (willing to obtain if not current)\n, • NIHSS and NRP preferred\n, • Cerner charting experience preferred\n, • Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)\n, • Ability to pass on-site drug screening and background checks\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\n, • Experience with high-volume emergency departments, trauma, and critical care\n, • Previous travel nurse assignments or contract nursing experience\n, • Comfort managing pediatric to geriatric emergency care\n\n\nResponsibilities — Emergency Department (ED) Nurse / ER RN Duties\n\n, • Provide high-quality emergency care to neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics across a busy ED\n, • Assess, triage, and manage acute medical and traumatic presentations using ED nursing and emergency medicine best practices\n, • Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, and emergency medications\n, • Administer procedural sedation, IV vasopressors, and blood products as indicated\n, • Perform and manage central line care, chest tube care, assist with or manage intubation, and care for ventilated patients\n, • Obtain and interpret 12-lead EKG/ECG and arterial blood gases; support acute cardiac care\n, • Manage major trauma cases including gunshot wounds, traumatic amputations, burns, and spinal cord injuries\n, • Implement isolation precautions/PPE, perform rapid triage, and coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams\n, • Address mental/behavioral health emergencies, manage violent behavior, and care for suicidal patients with appropriate safety protocols\n, • Collaborate closely with respiratory therapy, social services, pharmacy, physicians, and unit support staff\n, • Work some holidays as required; RTO required with submission\n\n\nWhy Join This Travel Nursing Assignment?\n\n, • Gain high-volume Emergency Department and trauma experience — ideal for ER nurses building critical care skills\n, • Competitive weekly pay for travel RN positions in Texas\n GHR Healthcare Job ID #471023.
