Job Description Summary Streetwork Project is an innovative outreach-counseling program for homeless youth in Harlem, which utilizes a harm reduction approach providing comprehensive services to adolescents and young adults impacted by homelessness and involved in street activities (gangs, violence, drug use/sale and survival sex). The Youth Services Navigator will promote access to harm reduction supplies and services at Streetwork’s Drop-In Center, with a focus on LGBTQ youth and youth of color at risk of SUDs Youth Services Navigators (YSN) will facilitate and conduct one-on-one harm reduction goal setting intervention for drug using clients. Youth Services Navigators will provide overdose prevention and response trainings for drug users. Job Description Summary Streetwork Project is the oldest street outreach program for homeless and street-involved youth in New York City. The program has grown from its beginnings in 1984 as a storefront project to encompass both outreach and comprehensive harm reduction services. The core service is long-term, one-on-one counseling, which is offered in a non-judgmental and holistic manner utilizing a harm reduction approach that focuses on building trust, fostering self-esteem, exploring options and choices, and empowering youth to change their high-risk behaviors. As part of our continuum of services we operate an emergency housing program for homeless youth in NYC, Streetwork Overnight. The Overnight is a 24 bed facility for youth ages 16-20. It is open from 7 pm to 10 am 7 days a week. Casual Youth Advocates work overnight hours to support the youth while they are in our crisis shelter. As part of our continuum of services, we also provide overnight outreach in teams of two seven nights a week (7 pm to 3 am), throughout the five boroughs of New York City. Casual Youth Advocates work overnight hours to meet the most disenfranchised youth while they are in crisis. Casual Youth Advocates work part-time and on-call, filling in for full-time youth advocate absences at the Overnight and Outreach program. The Youth Services Peer Navigator are young adults (ages 18–30) with lived experience of unaccompanied homelessness during their youth. Youth Services Peer Navigators help build trust, promote youth voice and choice, and walk alongside young people in their journeys. Youth Services Peer Navigators promote long-term stability and act as a connector between youth, staff, community, and service systems. Job Description Work as a member of a dynamic CAC multidisciplinary team to provide child victims of sexual abuse and severe physical abuse and their impacted family members with an array of specialized, trauma-informed services including an orientation to the CAC, participating in the forensic interview process, providing on-site mental health services including child trauma screenings, the Child & Family Traumatic Stress Intervention and the provision of victim support & advocacy services. Job Description Summary: Safe Horizon’s Family Focused Program provides comprehensive trauma-informed client-centered services to families who are affected by intimate partner violence and are involved in the child welfare system. Our goal is help those who have experienced physical, emotional or other forms of abuse to establish long-term safety and healing from the effects of trauma. Safe Horizon uses a client centered, trauma informed, anti-oppressive approach to supporting clients. Responsibilities: The Senior Therapeutic Case Planner provides both practical advocacy services and support to domestic violence survivors, their children and the person causing harm (separately). Duties may include the following: • Administer trauma screenings and trauma assessments to children, survivors of domestic violence and/or persons causing harm in intimate partner relationships;, • Provide evidence-based trauma-focused treatment through individual, dyadic, and group models, • Conduct ACS Domestic Violence Screening Tool and complete program intake in collaboration with SWF Trauma Counselors, • Provide services including crisis intervention, supportive counseling, and ongoing safety assessments and re-assessments;, • Learn and integrate a trauma-informed, client-centered approach, using an anti-oppressive lens, into your work with clients., • Provide crisis intervention and short-term counseling for survivors of domestic violence, • Deliver high quality case planning and practical services to children and families including assistance with obtaining services including, but not limited to: safe housing, public benefits, emergency financial assistance, educational services, legal advocacy and representation, and other needed services, • Commit to developing practice skills in accordance to Safe Horizon’s client centered, trauma informed, anti-racist approach, • Engage in safety assessment and risk management dialogues with clients to safety plan, • Conducting home, office, and school visits with clients and their families., • Provides emergency assistance including transportation, food vouchers, financial assistance, emergency cell phones, and lock replacement, • Work closely with the Administration for Children’s Services’ Family Service Unit (FSU) and Family Court Legal Services (FCLS), and participate in family court hearings, • Accompany clients to appointments related to accessing services such public assistance and other entitlements, • Participate and support clients in family team conferences, • Maintain clear, concise, and timely documentation with all relevant client information including data entry into a computerized record keeping system, • Participate in the service team of clinician and case planners responsible to maintain a mixed caseload of families (including survivors and their children and persons causing harm), • Implement strategies for addressing vicarious trauma, • Complete required documentation in a timely manner utilizing the computer, such as progress notes in Connections and contacts in PROMIS., • Perform intake and case management functions, including crisis response services, as required., • Facilitate therapeutic groups, • Support the Clinical Supervisor with coverage for the team, • Support new staff with onboarding and becoming acclimated with the program, • Combined Three years of experience working with victims of domestic violence and / or child welfare, • Training and experience in case management and/or working with survivors of domestic violence or persons causing harm in a trauma-informed setting;, • Sensitivity towards and understanding of victimization, especially the experience of survivors of domestic violence and all members of their families including the person causing harm in the family;, • Basic understanding of the child welfare system and preventive, • Strong communication and organizational skills;, • Excellent interpersonal skills, be assertive and well organized;, • Ability to work under pressure in a calm and reassuring manner;, • Demonstrate the ability to work independently and also work on a team with an appreciation of different points of view, • Ability to work evenings as needed and maintain a flexible work schedule, • Basic understanding of computer and systems for managing case records, • Strong oral and written communication skills AmeriCorps, Peace Corps and other national service alumni are encouraged to apply. Job Description Summary: The Senior Case Manager provides direct assistance, either in-person or telephonically, to victims of crime and abuse, specializing in working with survivors of intimate partner and family violence (includes sexual assault and families of homicide victims). The Senior Case Manager will provide services to victims of crime and abuse. Job Description Summary: The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of payroll and E-Timekeeping for Safe Horizon. This role requires significant interactions with PX Partners, senior business leaders, external vendors and various other internal stakeholders to understand stakeholder needs, optimize processes, align and harmonize system requirements and processes and drive required change management. Additional responsibilities include developing and implementing strategies for given processes, advising agency management in Payroll/PX policy and program matters, appropriately escalating issues, and making or recommending appropriate decisions.
