The Opportunity We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Financial Analyst to join our Houston-based Finance team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in supporting key business decisions through detailed financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and performance analysis. This is a vital position that offers significant exposure to the operational and strategic aspects of the Upstream Oil & Gas industry. Key Responsibilities • Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):, • Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models for capital projects, asset acquisitions, and divestitures, including Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) analysis, Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), and payback periods., • Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes for assigned business units or assets., • Prepare detailed variance analysis (Actual vs. Budget/Forecast) and communicate key insights to management., • Performance Reporting:, • Create monthly and quarterly financial performance packages for executive review, including operational metrics and financial trends., • Analyze capital expenditures (CAPEX) and operating expenditures (OPEX) to identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements., • Strategic Support:, • Assist in the preparation of presentations for the Board of Directors and Investor Relations., • Support cross-functional teams (e.g., Engineering, Operations, Land) with ad-hoc analysis and decision support., • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related quantitative field., • Experience: 2–10 years of progressive experience in financial analysis experience within the Oil & Gas industry (Upstream E&P highly desirable)., • Technical Skills:, • Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced modeling, pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.)., • Strong working knowledge of financial statement analysis and corporate finance principles., • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and FP&A software (e.g., Hyperion, Anaplan) is a plus., • Soft Skills:, • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities., • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to clearly articulate complex financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders., • Impact: Work on high-value projects that directly influence the company’s strategic direction and growth., • Growth: Structured mentorship and professional development opportunities in the heart of the world's energy capital.
