ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY Avoya Travel is hiring a full-time DIRECTOR OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY. POSITION SUMMARY The Director of Information Technology (IT Director) is a leadership team member responsible for leading the organization’s technology strategy, infrastructure, and operations. This role ensures that IT systems and processes align with business objectives, drive innovation, and maintain security and compliance standards. The IT Director will oversee all technology initiatives, manage IT teams, and collaborate with other executives to support organizational growth. Key operational responsibilities include implementing new capabilities using our current technologies as well as implementing new technologies while still supporting the day-to-day operations of the business. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Strategic Leadership • Develop and execute the company’s IT strategy aligned with business goals., • Identify emerging technologies and assess their potential impact on the organization., • Oversee IT infrastructure, applications, and corporate systems., • Ensure high availability, scalability, and security of our commercial and proprietary technology platforms., • Implement robust cybersecurity measures to protect data and systems in accodrance with best practices., • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and controls., • Support third party cybersecurity audits conducted at the request of management or ownership., • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing IT team., • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement., • Partner with business units to identify technology needs and deliver solutions., • Communicate IT strategy and initiatives to the executive leadership team., • Assist with other tasks and/or special projects as required., • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred., • A minimum of 10 years of progressive IT leadership experience, including a minimum of 5 years in a senior management role., • Proven track record of implementing enterprise-level technology solutions., • Strong knowledge of cloud computing (Azure preferred), cybersecurity, and data management., • Strong knowledge of Microsoft cloud application administration including but not limited to Microsoft 365, Office 365, InTune, Defender, etc., • IT Leadership and Staff Development, • Enterprise IT Systems & Infrastructure including VPC and Public Cloud Environment Administration., • IT Strategy & Cybersecurity, • Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery, • IT Governance & Compliance, • Vendor relations & external IT partnerships, • Employees who work from home (part-time, full-time, or on occasion)must be able to meet performance standards and department requirements in a productive and professional environment., • This includes the ability to work with little or no distraction(s), consistent internet connectivity, regular and ongoing communication with supervisors(s), reliable childcare and/or eldercare (if applicable), and depending on the role, the ability to discuss and protect all confidential information (company or people related)., • Presents a professional and tidy appearance (virtually or in person) while conducting educational sessions, calls, and/or meetings (when cameras are on)., • If remote, ability to receive and setup company laptop, monitor(s), keyboard, headset, and mouse (all less than 5-lbs each)., • Ability to work in a primarily stationary job from a laptop computer (ability to accurately type, read, review, write, etc.)., • If sitting at a desk, ability to sit for prolonged periods of time each workday (typically 8-hours) (standing desks are provided in the San Marcos Innovation Center)., • Ability to speak English clearly, in a friendly manner, and at an appropriate volume over the company’s provided phone system, Microsoft Teams, or in person as needed., • Ability to travel, if needed, to attend company events and/or meetings.
