Job Description ABEITA AND ASSOCIATES Behavioral Services Title: Board Certified Behavior Analyst Job Summary Abeita & Associates is seeking a Qualified Behavior Modification Professional (QBMP) to provide clinical oversight for individuals residing in Community Crisis Homes (CCH), while also contributing to the growth and development of our broader behavioral services team. While the CCH-specific workload currently averages approximately 16 hours per month, we are looking to fill a full-time position with someone who is enthusiastic about taking on additional responsibilities within our organization. These include reviewing behavior consultant reports, guiding Behavior Management Assistants (BMAs), and providing clinical leadership to other BCBAs and emerging professionals. This is a great opportunity for a seasoned clinician who enjoys both hands-on client work and shaping organizational practices through supervision, mentorship, and quality assurance. Essential Responsibilities • Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs) and develop individualized behavior support plans (BSPs) in compliance with Title 17 §59050., • Provide oversight of BSP implementation and coach Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to ensure fidelity to intervention strategies., • Train DSPs and RBTs in behavior modification, skill acquisition techniques, and trauma-informed, person-centered supports., • Analyze behavioral data and make data-driven modifications to BSPs as needed., • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and DDS guidelines, especially around behavior interventions and restrictive procedures., • Use evidence-based teaching methods, including task analysis, prompting, chaining, and reinforcement, to support client skill development., • Incorporate preference assessments, choice-making, and naturalistic teaching strategies in daily programming., • Support and supervise DSPs pursuing Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification, including conducting competency assessments., • Review and provide feedback on behavior consultant reports and documentation to maintain quality and compliance across the team., • Supervise and support other BCBAs or clinical staff, fostering collaboration, clinical consistency, and professional development., • Assist in strategic planning efforts to enhance service delivery and contribute to agency growth. Must meet one of the following: • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), • Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA), • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), • Licensed Psychologist (California Board of Psychology), • Minimum 2 years of experience in behavior intervention for individuals with developmental disabilities., • Experience with high-acuity or crisis-level behaviors is strongly preferred., • Proficiency in functional assessments and BSP development., • Strong clinical judgment with a coaching and mentoring mindset., • Solid understanding of behavior analytic principles, person-centered planning, and trauma-informed care., • Working knowledge of Title 17, CCH, and EBSH regulations., • Excellent verbal and written communication skills., • Prior experience supervising other BCBAs or behavior consultants., • Experience training and supporting staff through the RBT certification process. Reassess annually or as needed to ensure progress. -\tBehavior Intervention Planning - Develop, implement, and monitor individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) that align with the outcomes in the client’s IPP/ISP, promote skill development, and reduce challenging behaviors. Support plans are regularly updated as behaviors evolve. -\tStaff Training & Support - Provide staff with ongoing training on implementing plans, using data collection methods, and responding to behaviors with appropriate strategies. Trainings also includes on-the-floor coaching during teachable moments. -\tClient-Centered Programming - Promote independence through teaching functional life skills, including communication, social interaction, and self-care. Provide monthly direct support to the individual to build rapport and reinforce positive change. -\tData Collection & Analysis - Ensure accurate data tracking of behavioral incidents. Provide tools and training to staff to support consistent data collection and implement replacement behaviors and coping strategies. -\tInterdisciplinary Collaboration - Maintain regular communication with day programs, regional center case managers, and supervising clinicians.
