Job DescriptionClassification: Hourly Non-Exempt Status – Part-time Reports To: BCBA/BCaBA/Nexus Therapies Management Summary Responsible for providing intensive behavioral intervention services to clients with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental delays in language, cognitive, adaptive behavior, social-emotional, self-care, fine motor, gross motor and communication development. The behavior therapist is ultimately responsible for direct delivery of the behavioral services to the children and families, as well as accurate record-keeping of case notes and excellent communication with supervising BCABA or BCBA about the program and the progress of the behavior service plans. The RBT maintains a weekly billable caseload of service hours as directed. Essential Functions • Provide direct therapy in individual and group sessions., • Complete weekly program writing and maintain client's program book., • Work with the Clinical Team and implement individualized goals and checklists., • Implement individualized treatment plans as written and directed by a Clinical Manager., • Graph data as instructed - may only apply if the electronic data collection system is offline., • Maintain respect and confidentiality for all clients., • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies., • Maintain and protect the well-being of all clients., • Avoids legal challenges by keeping client information confidential., • Possession of a valid driver’s license and the ability to meet California’s driving requirements, • Dependable means of transportation Additional Functions: * Actively communicates the Nexus Therapies' outreach efforts to community * Adheres to the mission, vision, and values of Nexus Therapies (very important) Requirements Required Education and Experience: • High School Degree, • An associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in the areas of applied behavior analysis, marriage and family therapy, child development, special education, psychology, or related field., • RBT Certification., • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of DTT, PECS, PRT, and other ABA strategies. Work Environment & Physical Demands: • Ability to stand and circulate for extended periods of time., • Ability to see for purposes of reading laws and codes, rules and policies, and other printed matter and observing students., • Ability to hear and understand speech at normal speech levels, in the English language., • Ability to communicate so others will be able to understand normal conversation clearly., • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds., • Adapt to manage moderate to high-stress levels., • Work fluctuates between a clinical, office, and home environment., • Climate is normal; occasional adverse weather conditions., • Regular contact with parents, community members, and outside agency personnel., • Hazards: Incumbents may be exposed to contact with individuals displaying physically aggressive, self-abusive, or socially undesirable behavior., • Ability and willingness to travel between client locations for appointments as assigned in a punctual manner. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a part-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, with some weekends as needed; hours will fluctuate based on workload and client schedule. Occasional weekend work will be required based on client needs. Monday - Friday hours available 12 pm to 8 pm.
