Job Description II BRUTTO is hiring for a SERVER Il Brutto is a neighborhood spot in East Austin serving authentic Italian food, meaning what you would eat in Italy, presented in exactly the same way. Helmed by Chef Erind Halilaj, previously of Obic Mozzarella Bar in New York, the menu features fresh antipasti, housemade pasta, and pizza baked in the restaurant's Neapolitan wood-burning oven. Il Brutto's beverage program highlights an extensive selection of Italian wines from an on-site cellar, as well as local beers, simple, handcrafted cocktails, and an exciting selection of amari and vermouth. Job Overview Il Brutto is a modern Italian restaurant rooted in tradition, where handmade pasta, seasonal ingredients, and thoughtful hospitality come together to create an experience guests return for again and again. As a Server, you'll lead guests through that experience with confidence, strong product knowledge, and genuine hospitality. We're looking for someone who is naturally curious, detail-oriented, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. What you'll do: • Welcome guests and create a relaxed, attentive dining experience from start to finish., • Guide guests through the menu, wine list, and cocktail program with confidence., • Make thoughtful food and beverage recommendations based on guest preferences., • Accurately take and enter orders while communicating clearly with the kitchen and service team., • Serve food and beverages with attention to timing, presentation, and detail., • Maintain a strong understanding of our menu, ingredients, preparation methods, and beverage program., • Communicate allergies, dietary restrictions, and special requests with accuracy., • Work closely with hosts, bartenders, food runners, and support staff to deliver seamless service., • Respond to guest feedback professionally and help resolve issues as they arise., • Process payments accurately and ensure every guest leaves on a high note., • Help maintain a clean, organized, and service-ready dining room throughout each shift., • Follow all company standards and responsible alcohol service practices. Who you are: • You enjoy creating great guest experiences and know that hospitality lives in the details., • You have 1+ year of serving experience in a high-volume, hospitality-driven restaurant., • You communicate clearly, stay organized, and remain composed during busy services., • You're comfortable learning and speaking about food, wine, and cocktails., • You work well as part of a team and are always willing to jump in where needed., • You have (or are able to obtain) required food handler and alcohol service certifications., • You're comfortable using POS systems and handling guest transactions accurately.
