Job DescriptionJob Title: Quality Technician Job Description The Quality Technician supports inspection and quality reporting activities in a high-precision manufacturing environment. This role focuses on reviewing contracts and inspection requirements, preparing inspection documentation, and performing mechanical inspections using precision measuring tools. The Quality Technician contributes to receiving, in-process, and final inspections to ensure that all products comply with customer specifications, engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, and applicable quality standards. Responsibilities • Review contracts, purchase orders, and inspection requirements to determine appropriate inspection criteria and documentation., • Compare products to be shipped against sales orders to verify correct parts, quantities, and associated quality documentation., • Assist in the inspection of manufactured parts using various precision measuring tools and techniques to verify conformance to tight tolerances., • Perform receiving inspections by comparing received articles with purchase orders and applicable specifications., • Perform in-process inspections on parts and assemblies to ensure ongoing compliance with engineering drawings and quality standards., • Perform final inspections prior to shipment to confirm that all dimensional, visual, and documentation requirements are met., • Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and GD&T to validate that parts meet dimensional and functional requirements., • Document inspection results clearly and accurately for receiving, in-process, and final inspections, maintaining complete and traceable quality records., • Support inspection documentation and reporting requirements for shipped product, including customer and government contract deliverables., • Support the implementation and maintenance of the quality management system in alignment with standards such as AS9100., • Identify, document, and report non-conformances or quality issues, and support follow-up actions as required., • Assist in internal audits and process improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and inspection efficiency., • Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Operations teams to resolve quality concerns and clarify requirements., • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in both manufacturing and office environments., • Adhere to all safety regulations, quality procedures, and company policies., • Perform other quality-related duties as assigned to support department and organizational goals.Essential Skills, • Proficiency in mechanical inspection using precision measurement tools, including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, pin gauges, and roughometers, to verify conformance to tight tolerances., • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and GD&T to assess dimensional and functional requirements., • Experience performing receiving, in-process, and final inspections in a manufacturing environment., • Strong capability to document inspection results accurately and maintain detailed quality records for compliance and traceability., • Understanding of quality documentation and reporting requirements, including support for customer and government contracts., • Familiarity with quality management systems and standards such as AS9100., • Ability to identify and report non-conformances and quality issues in a clear and timely manner., • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all inspection and documentation activities., • Effective communication skills for working with Quality, Engineering, and Operations teams., • Ability to follow established safety regulations, quality procedures, and company policies.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Hands-on experience with a broad range of mechanical inspection tools, including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, pin gauges, roughometers, and protractors., • Strong understanding of blueprints, schematics, and GD&T in an aerospace or high-precision manufacturing context., • Experience supporting inspection documentation and reporting for shipped product, including customer and regulatory requirements., • Exposure to government contracts and ITAR-regulated programs is strongly preferred., • Comfort working cross-functionally with Quality, Engineering, and Operations teams to resolve issues and improve processes., • Interest in participating in internal audits and continuous improvement initiatives within the quality function., • Motivation to grow in a hands-on inspection role with exposure to the full inspection lifecycle, from receiving through final inspection., • Appreciation for a stable workload in a high-precision, aerospace-related manufacturing environment with potential for long-term employment through a contract-to-hire model., • Desire for direct access to Quality leadership and opportunities to learn from experienced quality professionals.Work Environment The Quality Technician works within a dedicated Quality department alongside a Quality Manager, Quality Supervisor, and an inspector. The role involves a mix of time on the manufacturing floor and in an office setting, providing exposure to both hands-on inspection work and documentation activities. The environment centers on aerospace and high-precision manufacturing, including work on government and ITAR-regulated programs. The position offers a stable workload, direct interaction with quality leadership, and the potential to transition from contract to a full-time role. Work is performed using precision measuring equipment and standard office tools, with an emphasis on maintaining a clean, organized, and safety-conscious workspace. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Los Angeles, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr.
