Job Description This is a full-time, partial work-from-home position. About The Firm: • A congenial work environment where every voice is heard, • Novel, high-impact cases that improve people’s lives, • A culture that respects and prioritizes work-life balance Benefits: • Position includes health insurance, 401(k), • Potential performance-based bonus Compensation: $130,000 - $150,000 DOE Compensation: $130,000 - $150,000 DOE Responsibilities: • Lead and manage a diverse caseload from inception through pre-trial, trial, and appeal when necessary ensuring each client receives effective legal representation, • Draft law and motion from initial complaints through all pre-trial motions and oppositions to trial and post-verdict pleadings, • Prepare and respond to discovery, • Take and defend depositions, including percipient witnesses and expert depositions, • Conduct pre-filing investigation and research, • Evaluate/Review potential cases, interview clients and witnesses, • Make court appearances, mostly in state court, • Support the firm’s marketing initiatives, including the creation of content, • Minimum 2-4 years of civil litigation experience with substantial law and motion experience, • Licensed California attorney, • Experience with bad faith and personal injury cases, • Deposition and some trial experience, • Bilingual is a plus, • Empathetic, respectful, professional, organized, clear communicator, patient, calm, flexible, ethical, humble, and an energetic advocate, • Self-starter, independent, efficient, motivated, driven, hardworking, strong writer and researcher, strong work ethic, indefatigable, • Results-focused – extremely proactive with a strong bias for action, • Competent solutions-oriented thinker and problem-solver, • Committed to seeing casework to completion with a "can-do attitude., • Gets along well with others and enjoys working with a small team, • Cultivates strong collaborative relationships and aligns well with company culture, • Can effectively multitalk and is detail-oriented, • An ‘out of the box' thinker who is creative, strategic, and brings ingenuity, • You are eager to contribute ideas and add value to cases, • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral skills, • Strategic expertise emanating from a superior understanding of the law, • Possesses an insightful approach to evaluating potential cases that fit with the firm, • Eager to be mentored and to continually learn and growAbout Company We are a small, close-knit, congenial law firm.
