Job Description Salary: 16.50/hour Residency Requirement: Primary residence must be in the state of Georgia Job Summary The Packing Expeditor is responsible for preparation of packing lines at the beginning of the day, replenishing all packing supplies and food throughout the day, managing Aptean (ERP computer software) inventory in real time, and is expected to participate in all aspects of food packaging processes as needed and ensuring that proper food safety and sanitation measures are maintained. Supervisory Responsibilities None. Duties/ Responsibilities Before packing lines start at 8am: • clean and sanitize all packing tables, • stock all areas with gloves, aprons, hairnets and arm covers., • fill lexans with ice according to needs for the day for each table., • pull correct food according to menu day for each table and place in ice, • communicate frequently with line leads, PFC and culinary staff, and packing supervisor, • replenish all food as needed, • record product temps hourly, • assist with meal change-overs, • clean and wipe tables when needed, • back-up packer as needed, • Follow all HACCP protocols; anticipate and report any work or food safety issues to your supervisor, • Check quality and consistency of product being pulled from cooler to make sure highest quality product is being packed, • Work effectively with volunteers ensuring they have a productive and meaningful experience, • Work effectively with packing and culinary teams to ensure packing lines stay on schedule, • Complete packing inputs and outputs in Aptean in real time, • Work with Packing Supervisor on planning out following pack day, • Cross-train on every position within packing to become a back-up for each role, • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos in English., • Ability to write simple correspondence in English., • Ability to communicate appropriately., • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions., • Ability to obtain ServSafe Certification. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and acceptable math and reading skills. Physical Requirements The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may also be regularly exposed to chilled air conditioned conditions which may require extra layers of clothing to remain comfortable. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. The employee must frequently lift or move up to 65 pounds.
