Job Description This position requires candidates to reside in the Los Angeles area and work 3 days per week in-office located in El Segundo, CA GENERAL SUMMARY: Under general supervision, performs collection activities and follow-up on delinquent consumer, credit card and bankrupt accounts. Handles routine and moderately complex matters. Provides quality member service to all internal/external customers and maintains confidentiality of member accounts and records. NATURE AND SCOPE OF POSITION: This position works with a minimal amount of supervision and direction and is authorized to take reasonable actions necessary to carry out the assigned responsibilities of the position, provided that such action is consistent with cost-effective practices and is consistent with the policy and procedures of Kinecta Federal Credit Union. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but will be expected to take the lead on assigned projects and may oversee the work of others working on assigned projects. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Responsible for managing delinquent consumer loan and credit card accounts, including deficiency balance, bankruptcies, and charged -off accounts. Conduct extensive skip tracing of debtors and collateral, evaluate risk and determine appropriate resolution strategies. Recommend and coordinate field chases, repossessions, legal actions, and charge-offs. Managed high volume inbound and outbound calls using power dialer, • Generates Credit Bureau reports., • Exhausts all available recovery options when resolving delinquent account., • Protects Credit Union assets by reducing delinquency and preventing financial loss., • Utilizes computer systems to accurately enter, update and retrieve account information., • Delivers high quality member service, including resolving account disputes, correcting misapplied payments, and processing payment modifications, note modifications, references and loan or credit card consolidations. NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Performs other duties including special projects as assigned., • Performs routine collection calls on consumer loans and credit cards. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Knowledge of collection of delinquent consumer loans, credit cards, deficiency balances, bankruptcy, charged-off accounts., • Strong interpersonal, problem solving and decision-making skills., • Strong oral and written communication skills., • Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Aperture, Symitar, • Ability analyst and solve problems., • Ability to interact with staff, members and others encountered in the course of work., • Ability to learn and apply new information or skills., • Ability to observe and interpret people and situations., • Ability to perform highly detailed work on multiple, concurrent tasks., • Ability to read and interpret financial and statistical data, information and documents., • Ability to use math and apply mathematical reasoning and abstract statistical concepts., • Ability to work under intensive deadlines. Education, Training and Experience: Potential candidates for this position must meet the following requirements: • High School or equivalent degree., • Minimum of 1-3 years of loan adjustment experience. One year of relevant professional-level work experience may be substituted for one year of required education. WORKING CONDITIONS: • The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc., • The job may require flexibility with regards to scheduling days, hours, and work location, depending on business needs. Must be able to exercise sound judgment, effectively plan and be well organized, have excellent oral and written communications skills, work well under changing timelines, take the initiative and be flexible and cooperative. Accuracy, timeliness and maintaining confidentiality related to member, employee information and company records is required. While performing the job duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit; talk or hear in person and by telephone; use hands to operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; lift minimum 10 lbs. The employee is frequently required to walk and stand. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus to read and operate office equipment, as necessary.
