Job Description Since the publication of the Graduate at Graduation (1980), a commitment to service and justice has been constitutive of Jesuit secondary education: The Jesuit high school student at graduation has acquired considerable knowledge of the many needs of local, national, and global communities and is preparing for the day when he or she will take a place in these communities as a competent, concerned and responsible member. The graduate has been inspired to develop the awareness and skills necessary to live in a global society as a person for and with others. Position As Director of Service and Justice Initiatives, you will have the extraordinary opportunity to work with approximately 530 exceptional, gifted young men, talented faculty, and committed staff. Located in New York City, Regis High School is a Catholic, Jesuit, college preparatory school and the only Jesuit, full-scholarship high school in the country. The school was founded in 1914 through the extraordinary generosity of an anonymous woman and her family. Regis now relies on the philanthropy of alumni, parents, and friends as its most significant source of financial support. Position Summary The Director of Service and Justice Initiatives is a pastoral minister essential to animating the mission of Regis High School and our community’s commitment to doing justice. The Director of Service and Justice Initiatives works to align Regis’s rigorous academic curriculum with a robust Christian Service program that responds to the needs of communities around the Tri-State area from which our diverse student body hails. She/he reports to the Director of Belonging, Dignity, and Justice, in addition to closely collaborating with the Director of Campus Ministry and the Vice President for Ignatian Identity and Formation. The Director of Service and Justice Initiatives attentively mentors students and actively cooperates with the partnering institutions where our students volunteer their time and talents. Job Responsibilities • Forming students in a faith that is definitively oriented to Justice., • Ensuring that Regis students have meaningful, developmentally appropriate service experiences accompanied by opportunities for reflection and faith formation., • Overseeing and implementing the Senior Christian Service Program and Social Justice Seminars., • Building and maintaining relationships with local, national, and international organizations that provide Regis students with opportunities for service and immersions that contribute to the common good of these overlapping communities., • Facilitating in-person check-ins at student service sites and ensuring that Seniors fulfill their service responsibilities., • Coordinating service and justice immersion programs., • Implementing elements of reflection and faith formation within service trips., • Negotiating logistics of domestic and international service trips., • Attending and chaperoning at least three domestic and international trips., • Supporting the Director of Belonging, Dignity, and Justice with the Rise Mentoring Program when needed., • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (Theology, Pastoral Studies, Education, Social Sciences)., • Enthusiastic practice of the Roman Catholic faith and experience in Ignatian Spirituality., • Deep knowledge of Catholic Social Teaching and its ethical commitments., • A commitment to our school’s initiatives towards greater Belonging, Dignity, and Justice as Gospel values and an enthusiasm for nurturing the spiritual lives and religious practices of the entire student body., • Experience in coordinating service projects and providing student faith-formation in educational and/or pastoral settings. This is a full-time, 11-month position, with the 12th month accounting for a combination of accrued vacation and summer flex days. Start date August 17, 2026. Reporting structure Reports directly to Director of Belonging, Dignity & Justice. Compensation & Benefits Salary range is $80,000.00-90,000.00, commensurate with years of experience. Most benefits go into effect immediately. Participation in the 403 (b) begins after one year of employment.
