Job DescriptionCompany Description Emergency Department Nurse Manager (RN) Independence, MO Employment Type, Schedule, Pay * Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent * Schedule: Evenings | Monday–Friday, 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM * On-call rotation approximately every three weeks * Hourly Pay Range: $53.12 – $61.99/hour (based on experience) * Sign-On Bonus: $25,000 with a 2-year commitment (paid in structured increments) * Relocation Assistance: Available on a case-by-case basis * Reports To: Emergency Department Director Job Description Overview We are seeking an experienced Emergency Department Nurse Manager (RN) to provide evening-shift leadership within a high-volume, trauma-capable emergency department in Independence, Missouri. This role is responsible for clinical, operational, and people leadership across the Emergency Department during peak evening hours. The Nurse Manager serves as a hands-on leader and clinical resource, ensuring high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, staff engagement, and operational efficiency. This position is well-suited for an experienced ED Charge Nurse or Nurse Manager ready to lead in a fast-paced, high-acuity emergency environment. Responsibilities Clinical & Operational Leadership * Provide leadership and oversight of Emergency Department operations during evening hours * Ensure safe, efficient, and patient-centered emergency care delivery * Monitor patient flow, throughput, staffing, and resource utilization * Serve as a clinical role model and escalation resource for the ED team People Management * Lead and support multidisciplinary ED staff, including nurses, paramedics, technicians, and support personnel * Participate in hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance management, and corrective action as needed * Promote engagement, accountability, and professional development within the department Quality, Safety & Compliance * Ensure compliance with departmental policies, procedures, and regulatory standards * Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and service excellence initiatives * Support staff education, competency validation, and ongoing training Administrative & Financial Oversight * Assist with budget awareness, staffing productivity, and operational efficiency * Coordinate department operations with hospital leadership and ancillary departments * Support communication and alignment between frontline staff and leadership Qualifications Required * Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Missouri or compact eligible) * 2+ years of recent Emergency Department experience * ED Charge Nurse experience considered; prior manager experience preferred * Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or RN Diploma * Strong clinical judgment and ability to lead in a fast-paced environment Required Certifications * BLS (Basic Life Support) within 30 days of hire * ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) within 90 days of hire Required Within 1 Year of Hire * ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) * TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) Additional Information Compensation & Benefits * Competitive hourly leadership pay * $25,000 sign-on bonus * Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance * Paid time off and paid family leave programs * Retirement plan with employer match * Education assistance and professional development support * Employee wellness and financial wellbeing programs Ideal For * ED Charge Nurses ready to transition into formal management * Emergency Department Nurse Managers seeking an evening leadership role * Emergency nursing leaders who thrive in high-volume, trauma-capable settings Keywords Emergency Department Nurse Manager, ER Nurse Manager, ED RN Leadership, Trauma ED Nurse Manager, Acute Care RN Manager #IndependenceMOJobs #EDLeadership #EmergencyNurseManager #RNLeadershipJobs #MissouriNursingCareers
