Job DescriptionConstruction Manager Transmission & Distribution Construction Manager supports the delivery of complex infrastructure projects from early planning through final turnover. This role works closely with project leadership to drive safety, quality, schedule, cost performance, and field execution across a wide range of industries including aviation, commercial facilities, energy, manufacturing, oil and gas, power generation, process, transmission and distribution, and water. This position is well suited for someone who thrives in fast paced environments, enjoys solving problems in the field, and wants to grow into a leadership role on major construction programs. Key Responsibilities * Support all safety programs, training, and policies while helping the project team, contractors, and field personnel maintain strong Safety and Health performance. * Build and maintain productive client relationships and support proposal and project communications. * Assist with internal and external project risk reviews and coordinate with legal resources as needed. * Support development and execution of core project plans including the Project Execution Plan, Quality Assurance Plan, Safety and Health Plan, Subcontracting Plan, Staffing Plan, Organization Chart, and Procurement Plan. * Participate in negotiating, approving, and administering prime contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, and change orders. * Assist with planning and executing site mobilization and demobilization. * Secure required project permits and support bidder registration and prequalification. * Prepare Requests for Proposal, assist with scope development, manage bid evaluations, and support subcontractor selection and award. * Support implementation of project specifications, drawing releases, and design changes. * Manage downstream contract administration including RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, change management, and claims mitigation. * Assist with project cost reporting, scheduling, work breakdown structures, project setup, closeout, and field progress tracking. * Prepare and present project status updates, risks, schedule performance, cost performance, and cash flow information to internal and external stakeholders. * Support invoicing processes for prime contracts, subcontracts, and suppliers. * Establish and maintain project documentation systems and ensure compliance with filing and retention requirements. * Verify insurance, licensure, taxes, duties, and securities for project participants. * Support and conduct project safety, quality, progress, and financial audits. * Assist with materials receiving, inventory control, storage, and logistics. * Collaborate with superintendents and site managers to ensure subcontractor compliance with contract documents, safety requirements, quality standards, and schedule commitments. * Facilitate turnover documentation, warranty processes, and project closeout. * Support consistent application of company policies and procedures across all project activities. * Assist with development of labor agreements and onboarding of craft and field supervision. * Analyze crew rates, labor classifications, benefits, and labor laws to support staffing and cost management. * Maintain accurate craft classifications, progression records, and competency standards. * Estimate, forecast, and manage craft install unit rates and production rates to support earned value, schedule performance, and cost metrics. * Support craft training programs and manage construction equipment inventory and utilization. * Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications * Bachelor degree in Construction, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, plus 3 years of relevant construction experience. Equivalent experience may be considered in place of a degree. * Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access). * Experience with document control, scheduling, cost control, and project management software is preferred. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong organizational abilities. * Strong analytical and problem solving skills with high attention to detail. * Ability to manage high volumes of work and multitask effectively in a fast paced environment. * Field experience on construction sites or program management experience in aviation, commercial, energy, government, manufacturing, oil and gas, process, transmission and distribution, transportation, or water is preferred. * Basic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. * Must meet company driving requirements.
