About The Role The Platform Engineering team builds the systems, tooling, and operational standards that enable product teams to deliver software safely, frequently, and independently as the company grows.The Platform Engineer is responsible for contributing as part of this team, helping to lead the design, scalability, reliability, and operational excellence of the company’s platform infrastructure and core services. This role partners closely with Engineering, Product, and Cybersecurity to architect and evolve systems that support a highly available, secure, and resilient multi-tenant SaaS environment. As a senior individual contributor, the Platform Engineer applies advanced reliability and systems engineering principles to production environments, influencing architectural decisions and long-term platform strategy. This role balances speed of delivery with operational maturity, ensuring the platform scales effectively while maintaining high standards of performance, security, and uptime. This position reports to the Platform Engineering Manager. This position is full-time and fully remote. Candidates must be located in one of the following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, California, Oregon, Colorado, Texas, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Louisiana, Florida, Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. Candidates may be required to travel and/or meet up in-person from time to time. There may also be an expectation in the future for hybrid work in a local office. About You * You bring deep experience designing and operating production-grade cloud platforms, ideally within Microsoft Azure, and have helped evolve infrastructure that supports reliable, highly available SaaS systems at scale. * You have led or played a major role in complex platform initiatives, such as Kubernetes adoption, infrastructure modernization, or safely decomposing monolithic systems while the business continued shipping product.. * You have strong experience building and evolving CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code frameworks, and deployment automation that allow engineering teams to ship software safely and frequently. * You think in terms of systems, reliability, and operational maturity, with experience designing observability practices, incident response processes, and service reliability standards that improve uptime and reduce operational friction. * You naturally raise the technical bar around you, documenting architecture decisions, mentoring engineers, and helping teams adopt stronger reliability, observability, and operational practices across production systems. What You'll Do * Lead the design, implementation, and evolution of reliable, scalable platform infrastructure supporting the company’s SaaS products and APIs. * Partner with engineering teams to evolve platform architecture over time, supporting safe system decomposition, service ownership, and scalable service boundaries. * Architect and maintain infrastructure-as-code frameworks and automation standards to ensure consistency and repeatability across environments. * Establish and refine monitoring, alerting, logging, and observability practices to proactively detect and resolve system issues. * Own and improve incident response frameworks, root cause analysis processes, and post-incident reviews, driving systemic improvements. * Define and guide service level objectives (SLOs), service level indicators (SLIs), and error budgets to support reliability-driven decision-making. * Partner with Engineering teams to embed reliability, operability, and scalability considerations into system architecture and deployment workflows. * Lead improvements to CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and platform tooling to increase developer velocity and reduce operational friction. * Drive capacity planning, performance optimization, and scaling strategies to ensure platform readiness for growth and peak usage. * Collaborate with Security and Engineering leadership to ensure platform resilience, data protection, and compliance best practices are embedded in infrastructure design. * Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers across teams, influencing platform standards and architectural best practices. * Contribute to documentation, operational standards, and runbooks to ensure consistency and knowledge sharing. * Participate in on-call rotations and provide production support as needed to maintain system uptime and reliability. What You'll BringMinimum Requirements * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. * 8+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Platform Engineering, DevOps, Infrastructure Engineering, or related roles within a SaaS environment. * Demonstrated experience designing and supporting highly available, production-grade cloud infrastructure. * Deep experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred), networking, and distributed systems architecture. * Strong experience with infrastructure as code, automation frameworks, and CI/CD pipeline design. * Experience supporting multi-tenant SaaS systems with high availability, uptime, and performance requirements. * Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Kubernetes). * Experience leading complex technical initiatives or serving as a senior technical advisor across engineering teams.
