Job DescriptionSalary: 20.00 JOB DESCRIPTION Position: Visitor Services Representative Reports to: Visitor Experience Manager Department: Visitor Services Position Type: Part-time, Hourly, Non-Exempt Salary Range: Current Minimum - $20/per hour Benefits: Not Eligible Summary of Position A Visitor Services Representative assists in creating a welcoming environment for Museum guests, ensuring excellent customer service and a positive visitor experience across multiple areas of the museum. VSRs also ensure the safety of both guests and the artwork, monitoring gallery functions and all aspects of front-of-house operations, including store and caf sales, event setup and break down, cleaning, and other needs as they arise. Core Responsibilities: • Provide a welcoming experience for guests throughout the guest experience, orienting visitors to the space as they arrive and ensuring that they have access to pertinent information, • Assist with Store, Caf, and Membership sales, • Assist with After hours events setup and breakdown, • Maintain the appearance of public spaces, • Ensure guest safety through actively monitoring, responding, and documenting situations as they arise., • Attend Museum Business Services meetings and trainings as assigned, • Participate in the Museums Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Access (DEIA) trainings, • Perform other duties as necessary Absolutely Required Skills/ Knowledge/ Ability/ Experience or Education: • Must be able towork a flexible schedule from week to week including evenings and weekends, • Ability to deliver positive, friendly, and engaging customer service, • Commitment to team approach and ability to collaborate openly, • At least one year of customer service, retail, hospitality or similar experience, • Solid organization and problem-solving skills, • Strong communication skills (written, oral, visual), • Demonstrated commitment to supporting the museums Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Access (DEIA) framework, • Ability to work within and maintain the museum brand values: innovative, passionate, civic-minded, gracious, approachable Desired Skills/ Knowledge/ Ability/ Experience or Education: • Direct supervisory experience, • Food handlers permit, • Proficiency with POS software and general familiarity with computer systems, • Experience working in Visitor Services or equivalent at another museum, • An interest in studio art, art history, or museum field Travel, Working Conditions, Physical Requirements and Environment include: • Full 8+ hour shifts are spent in the Museum galleries assisting guests, must be able to move about easily and frequently, and stand for long periods of time, • Continuously exchanges information through listening and talking with guests, staff, and volunteers, • Some work may be occasionally performed outside where employee is subject to adverse weather conditions., • Frequently reaches with hands and arms and uses hands and fingers to handle objects and operate tools, machinery, computers, and/or controls.
